The Saga of the Metals, Part Three: The Silver
Reaching the ending of a trilogy is always a mixed feeling. I remember seeing ‘Return of the King’ at the cinema, knowing that when the film was over, then I had reached the end. Theres was no part four. This was the end. And still I was curious about how the final part of the journey would be. Would it make me cheer, cry and have pity like the former two? My hopes were high.
Fresh and most of all spicy to my nose. I adore the Brazilian Rosewood, that grounds this fragrance. It is the true magic maker in this mix of fruits and florals. The drawback in this is, that it produces an apple-like note, which I try to ignore. Luckily, it disappears again and leaves the fragrance with a subtle sweet expression due to the lily of the valley. But the rosewood… oh my! I keep coming back to it. It drags me in.
This is by far the most interesting of the Suggestion Triplets. It moves, it changes, it expands. And it is definitely a decent unisex fragrance, even though it is registered as a female scent.
And yes. Return of the King made me cheer, cry and have pity. It does every time I watch it.

First Prize
The second of three gourmand orientals with a metallic note. While the idea of these Suggestions is great, in practice they are rather underwhelming. This one is a powdery-musky base with sweet apple pie and a silvery sheen; the best and most coherent of them all but still a bit bland.

Unfortunately not mine anymore...
I actually bought all three fragrances back in the 90s - Silver, Gold, and Copper. I thought the concept was great at the time, that you could layer all three scents on top of each other - starting with Silver in the morning, then spraying Gold or Copper in the evening, depending on your mood... For quite a while, these three fragrances worked well for me - Silver is nice and fresh, suitable for everyday wear, while Gold and Copper were a bit heavier. But whether my taste has changed or perhaps my "chemistry" has changed, so that the scents no longer suited me well - at some point, I stopped enjoying using them. When I finally gave them away, I noticed from the level in the bottles that I had used Silver the most.

Silver Water, Woody
I have been contemplating for a long time whether I should write a comment here. On one hand, I find it difficult, on the other hand, this fragrance (and the two others from the line) deserves it.

The two corresponding scents from the Suggestion line are Eau Cuivree and Eau d'Or. So this is Silver Water.

I am not really a scent, but rather a numbers and letters synesthete. However, if I were to assign an intensity or warmth (effect) to the three perfumes, Silver is truly the coolest and clearest of all three.

Eau d'Argent starts very green, with a slight fruity note. Shortly thereafter, the rosewood comes to the forefront, the fruits recede to make room for the flowers. I can distinctly smell jasmine, lily, and rose, along with this woody note. Really very woody (so, not metallic!). This woody note, which I really like, remains present all the way into the base.
I smell amber first, which makes it a bit warmer, but only for a short time. Later, there’s a hint of musk. A bit soapy, but not exaggerated, so it’s okay for me. And still wood. However, it might also be sandalwood now; I can't distinguish that very well.

A very cool, austere scent, not sweet. You can clearly tell its origin in the 90s. But I quite like it. I would say it’s an office scent, suitable for the whole year (but not for heavy application). As a casual fragrance, it’s suitable for spring and summer.

Artfully composed with a great contrast between freshness, bold accents, and light floral fruit. Part of the Suggestion Trio. Good!
