I am in late spring...

... in the Botanical Garden in Munich. During the walk through the blooming world, a young pale woman stands in the flower beds surrounded by roses, lilies, and other flowers that envelop her with their colors and scents. She appears like a mirage. Incredibly beautiful like a dream.

Upon applying this fragrance, the nose is greeted with citrusy and fruity accords that are overlaid with various floral scents. Additionally, there are mossy, woody, tobacco, and vanilla notes. The tonka bean makes this fragrance sweet and supports the scent notes.

The longevity and sillage are good.

Here we have a floral women's fragrance that I see as suitable from around 25 years old. It is wearable all year round and exudes good floral notes. It is an all-rounder that can be worn both during the day and in the evening for various events.

Anyone who enjoys a floral, citrusy, sweet fragrance would be just right if it hadn't already been discontinued.

Parfum d'Elle or Wise Montana

Recently, out of nowhere, I had a scent memory of Parfum d'Elle by Montana in my nose. So real, as if I had just waved a sprayed cloth in front of me. What I smelled was special and unmistakable, and I knew I had to possess a drop of it again. Even if only for nostalgia. My search rewarded me with a small bottle at a good price.
And there it is again, the bitter, fresh, and unique note in the opening that captivated me back in the nineties. I think that bergamot, with its citrus components, is already special, but becomes even more so with the melon note. It's an extraordinary pairing. These are such special compositions that make you crave a fragrance and make it unmistakable. The floral bouquet gives it depth, and the wood, amber, and subtle vanilla notes ground the initially somewhat unruly opening. However, this does not make it a cuddly kitten. It almost feels like the attempt to tame the willful one. But it remains just an attempt, and a certain distance stays, with no cuddling for now. At most, a little stroking and caressing. As if it doesn't want to commit to being either nice or aloof. It simply does both at the same time. Parfum d'Elle is a fragrance that should be applied with care. Although on my skin, it comes across warmer and more conciliatory. Somehow, it fits quite well with my Scherrer2, Volupté, and Ysatis. All heavy and special floral fragrances from the past with a certain something, classically inspired and made for a grand appearance both in their time and today. Therefore, I do not consider Parfum d'Elle to be an everyday companion for me, but rather for a refined evening. A fragrance to be worn with the appropriate wardrobe. I am happy to have it back with me and to experience the déjà-vus of past days. And I look forward to recognizing the occasion for which I will wear this scent. The fragrance will show me, for it is not only very self-assured but also wise...

Montana and its Strange Scents

Mr. Shoulder Pads, Claude Montana, launched two truly peculiar fragrances in the 80s and early 90s: "Parfum de Peau" and "Parfum d'Elle." Opinions are divided on both. I can't quite grasp either of them, even though I've surely tested them about 30 times. I even once had an original bottle of the former scent. I snagged it for little money at a flea market.

For "Parfum de Peau," I can say clearly that I don't like it. The scent embodies the year 1986. Androgynous, neither fish nor fowl. Neither man nor woman. Ungraspable. A very strange fragrance.

The little sister, Parfum d'Elle, smells just as curious. A very absurd note stands out here in particular. Almost like sweat. Neither sweet nor powdery nor fruity nor anything else. Very confusing! I would love to smell this fragrance on a woman. I have never consciously perceived it. There's not much more to say, as I've misplaced my mini and have to rely on my (admittedly very good) scent memory.

"Unfortunately," the blue Montana sister was properly reformulated, so now the only option left is to reach for the mini or the original bottles. I don't know if the same happened to her yellow sister. Here on Parfumo, a version from 2002 is listed in the standing shell bottle. However, I could swear that this bottle already existed in the 90s. Back then, I believe it contained the EDP. The EDT was in the lying shell bottle.

I just did some research. Reformulated, what else! The 2002 version can be recognized by the packaging. The unref. version is bright yellow and reminiscent of limestone. The new one is Post-It yellow and smooth.
