Needle-like younger cousin of Parfum d'Homme
Indeed, it was not necessarily the smartest idea of the marketing strategists to launch a successor to the 1989 "Parfum d'Homme" in the same bottle (except for the color) with almost the same name, as the differences are quite significant.
While "Parfum d'Homme" is already olfactorily slightly overloaded, yet still coherent and indulging in the finest 80s scent overload, "Montana pour Homme" (which, to make matters worse, is also referred to as "Montana Homme" on the packaging of my OF) clearly takes the extremely herbal route. Not quite as extreme and "old-fashioned" as P. Silvestre, but still somewhat retro, perhaps leaning towards Carlo Corinto without sweetness.
And here we are at the point: VERY dry, VERY herbal, VERY green, any kind of sweetness is sought in vain here. This was, of course, designed in 2001 without any regard for the zeitgeist and is anything but innovative. Nevertheless, the scent is pleasing; it is honest, natural, and without exaggerated attitude. Relatively easy and inexpensive to acquire, it is still a good option. Sometimes that just has to be enough...
