The Pen Maker is Behind a Solid Office Scent.
One day, my best friend mentioned she loved a fragrance from Ulta and thought it would be an excellent addition to the collection of affordable fragrances.
When she told me the fragrance was Montblanc Legend, I decided to purchase it and give my thoughts.
----
Montblanc Legend starts with a citrusy aroma with bergamot and lemon, with a hint of freshness that comes from lavender. After a moment, the heart of the fragrance reveals itself with light florals. The florals complement the opening that extends the freshness, but keep the fragrance light.
The woods, tonka bean, and (possibly) oakmoss give Legend a firm base that adds a warm and confident feel, without being overly sweet.
Notably, it does smell similar to Abercromie and Fitch's Fierce, which was prevalent in American malls in the 2000s. This can be nostalgic, or off-putting.
----
In terms of performance, Legend is solid as an eau de toilette.
As I say in other reviews with similar projection and sillage, Legend will not announce your presence as you enter a room. However, the fragrance may get a person to turn their head as you walk by them, or they walk by you.
The longevity of this fragrance is anywhere from six to eight hours on skin. It should last for an entire workday or a night out—but likely not both without a respray.
----
Legend is an uncomplicated fragrance that is easy to wear in any social situation, whether it is at the gym, out on a date, or as a daily fragrance.
It is also easy to wear in all seasons, but Legend works the best in the comfortable temperatures of spring and autumn, and to a lesser extent, summer. It is weakest in the winter but has enough strength to push through the cold air.
For a fragrance that costs less than $40.00 for a 100 ml bottle, Legend provides amazing versatility.
That said, Legend shines the most as a fragrance in the office, as the notes combine for a fresh professional smell that is not offensive.
----
Legend is not a fragrance for someone looking for artistry or complexity. In addition, the fragrance may not mesh well with teens, or anyone that dislikes Fierce from the 2000s.
However, for someone looking for an affordable daily fragrance that works in multiple situations, Legend is a viable option.
