Fine, Bright Incense
If I researched correctly, Axum is a holy city of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and was once the capital of a kingdom of the same name. According to Ethiopian Orthodox belief, the Ark of the Covenant is said to be kept in the Church of St. Mary of Zion there. So much for the naming, which makes some sense with that bit of half-knowledge, as Axum is a beautiful, rather bright incense scent.

Even on the second test, the fragrance pyramid doesn't really reveal itself to me, aside from incense and a bit of patchouli.

The spices were probably cooked down for another scent, and the champagne was much more enjoyable to drink, as it doesn't really fit with a fragrance that has a sacred name. ;) The rest also hides behind the cloud of incense.

Axum is a monothematic, bright incense scent, in the style of CdG Kyoto or Loewe's 7. I like the execution, but since I already have the two mentioned fragrances, I can do without Morph, especially since it performs less well in direct comparison and behaves very reservedly regarding projection.

Like the two mentioned incense fragrances, I believe Axum can also be worn well in summer, and with its comparatively shy performance, it even works on very hot days without anyone fainting.

Although it is incense, this Morph doesn't need to join my collection for now.

Sweet, balsamic, spicy, woodsy and incense-y, this is a delicious blend for anyone who enjoys a dark note in their perfumes.

Frankincense that doesn't feel sacred, rather bright, stands on its own and is only complemented by spices and musk: unfortunately just solid.

Spicy incense on chocolate patch & wood fluff. Maybe also a straw flower. More arid forest than church or temple. Simple, but okay!

Unholy, spicy, initially beautifully dark incense scent that becomes lighter over time. I'm thrilled!

Strange incense: identifiable but not typical. Woody-spicy, yet not a characteristic incense scent. Very pleasant!

Pine forest. Lightly ethereal. Wonderfully natural! In the drydown, it gets a slightly dry, hay-like twist. Well done and high quality!

Interesting vetiver-incense combo that strongly reminds me of Timbuktu. If you have one, you don't need the other.

Pleasantly spicy at first, then softly creamy incense scent, straightforward in progression with long-lasting endurance - ideal business fragrance.

A lightly tuned incense scent that is more bright than dark.
Spicy, gentle, and caressing.
This is something for the "Light Smokers!"
