Morph meets Schwarzlose
A little prelude:
I have known/worn/loved Morph fragrances for over 10 years. The same goes for Schwarzlose. They were, back then, my first gateways into the world of niche perfumery.
To this day, numerous creations from these two houses are among the best but also grossly and inexcusable underestimated niche hits.
Now, when I read that Morph has released a new perfume "Oud Mafia," which was worked on by the perfumer from Schwarzlose (Veronique Nyberg), my curiosity and excitement led me to make a blind buy.
Now it’s here, this Oud-Saffron beauty.
The bottle is sooo beautiful. A mix of minimalism and avant-garde. It completely matches my taste.
But is it also the scent?
Oh yes, it is.
It opens with saffron. Noble and not too strong.
Later, a well-behaved oud joins in. The whole thing is wonderfully "blended" with balsamic notes that add a touch of sensuality to the otherwise more masculine saffron-oud duo.
The scent reminds me of Oud for Greatness, refined by "Schwarzlose" eroticism.
I will wear it to the office and on certain business occasions, especially when I want to exude a bit of dominance.
Longevity and sillage are above average. (How could it be any different with Morph?).
