Dark Earthy Sweet-Gentle Desire
Indomable = indomitable/uncontrollable.
Uncontrollable was also the desire to own this beautiful perfume. Resistance is futile. Reason off. Some of you will surely know it. You spray the scent on, smell the spot - kaboom - you immediately know that there is no other option but to buy this fragrance. From the nose - to the heart - order command sent to the brain, and there isn’t really much space left for anything else. You keep sniffing the sprayed spot like a madman throughout the day, with the faint hope - since you didn’t really want to buy that much - that you might have just been mistaken. But no - the excitement grows with every sniff. Then despair sets in because you can’t find it anywhere to buy, and as a last hope, you practically make an inquiry in the souk. And a very lovely perfumer, a huge thank you here to Aleida, rescues you from the scent dilemma.
Indomable has a lot going on. It starts loud. Woody, sweet, enchanting. The wood is soft and cuddly, and the sweetness is pronounced but not overwhelming. Somehow transparent, weightless like a dragonfly wing shimmering in all colors. This liaison between wood and sugar is not new, but I have never smelled it in such a way before. After about 2 hours, the woodiness recedes more and more, leaving the stage to a velvety dark slightly bitter dry earth. An earth full of energy. Wild. Untamed. Deep black. The sweetness of powdered sugar counteracts this. It cushions and the two connect to form a warm, aromatic slightly sweet pair that one might find unusual, but in the next moment cannot imagine being without each other because it is so fascinating. Thus, the scent remains for another three hours without becoming monotonous. Sometimes patch dominates, then the sweetness, then both are a unity again. I think I perceive a slight spiciness and smokiness. Gentle and tender like a veil. Towards the end, the sweetness recedes more and more, making way for warm spicy vanilla that feels very mature and not overwhelming. For the first time, I get the impression that the scent has tamed itself. Like a noble black stallion that has exhausted itself over hours and is now ready to follow its master benevolently.
Longevity and sillage are remarkable. More than 12 hours is easily achievable, and for the first few hours, the scent projects well. It seems (according to my surroundings) not overwhelming, but despite all its presence, it is transparent. It never really reaches skin level, or rather, I have either showered or slept before it could reach that.
The bottle feels high-quality and is designed in a morph-like manner. I would wish for a cap, but that’s probably a matter of taste.
A scent that fascinates me through and through and probably polarizes. Either you love it or you hate it. It probably rarely leaves anyone indifferent. I think it is definitely worth a test.
Thank you dear Addicta for successfully making me addicted.
