Vénus Nina Ricci 2024 Eau de Parfum

I had high expectations for a perfume that seemed to tick all the boxes for resembling a 90s perfume.

In this case, great expectations mean great disappointment ; I wanted this perfume to reflect the beauties of the 90s, such as Poême, Organza, etc... But here, all we get is just another exotic scent which mainly smells like coconut and exotic fruits. Soooo boring... We already have so many perfumes in this category...

I can't say it's completely bad but I'm really tired of this kind of perfumes...

They tried, they missed.

Venus. Roman goddess of love. She corresponds to the Greek Aphrodite.
She was accused of adultery by her complacent husband Vulcan, but it could not be proven that she had an affair with Mars. An unfaithful affair filled with desires, intrigues, and hatred. Angry souls bathed in the stinking haze of filth.
But of course, not every lie remains undiscovered. Mars and Venus were caught in the act. However, there are several versions of this story; you can paint the picture for yourselves.

Like this not-so-beautiful story, the scent of Venus is also not particularly filled with love and honesty. Here, quite a bit has been broken. Not only the strange compositions of the individual components but also the possibility of packing something, pardon, ugly into such a beautiful bottle. Only those who can enjoy the bottle will be happy here, as it is valuable and a feast for the eyes. Perfect for a Christmas gift. Perfect for the distributor's cash register. But by no means good for the fine nose.

Venus starts off quite scratchy, intensely floral. Powdery nuances spread radically over the magnolia. It quickly smells cold and bitter, the whole thing. Moths crawl up in the thoughts. It has that whole old lady vibe. The citrus aspects seem to completely fail here. They were only splattered around. The whole powder just becomes more clumped. Dusty facets rise from the depths, choking the flowers. Shallow earthy tones linger in the air, adding to the confusion. Lightly sprinkled with brown sugar and cheap vanilla pod. Towards the core, covered with a dull sheen, the heart of Venus beats in an extremely slow rhythm, just going on. It feels loveless and cool. No hint of desire and passion. Here, Mars is not burning for it; rather, he turns into cold stone.

The scent just breathes aimlessly, has hardly any development and certainly no depth. It could also be placed in the discount zone of the drugstore if it weren't for this bottle, which proudly displays the desire of packaging victims. Longevity and sillage are rather poor for me; I expected a bit more pump.

Mars and Venus have broken the marriage; I hereby break with Nina Ricci. I've never been able to make anything of it, except of course when looking at the bottle. The bottle. Yes, the bottle!
