Antique vanilla
Poesie’s description of this scent is "Three vanillas -- rich, creamy and airy -- are lashed with deep amber honey and blended with an antique lace accord which adds an ivory-tinged warmth with hints of faded florals and vanilla. The effect is an enveloping sweetness that has a velvety, plush texture and comforting softness.”
What I smell is a “vintage” vanilla. It’s dry and warm vanilla with an overtone of something dusty or antique. I get the impression of old book pages and yellowed lace pulled from a chest found in a long forgotten attic corner. It’s an almost sour but not unpleasant note that reminds me a bit of Blanket. It’s not one I’d repurchase if the opportunity arose but it’s always a delight to smell Poesie’s creations and I’m consistently impressed by how well they capture whatever scent/image/memory/atmosphere they’ve set out to evoke.
