Secretly Visiting the Addams Family
A lovely Parumista gifted me a few days ago with the fortune (in the form of an olfactory experience) to enjoy a slightly different kind of company. My sniffing journey takes me to a dilapidated Victorian villa, whose garden is a mix of cemetery and swamp. Not only does the unusual and somewhat macabre decoration of the house leave me in awe, but I am also surprised by dark rooms that are equipped more like dungeons and playroom torture chambers.
In the air hangs the morbid scent of old wood, dried blood, and other interesting but not really definable vapors. This scent fits perfectly with my apparent overall image and also with the residents of the house:
The Addams are an exceptionally loving family that sticks together. Gomez Alonzo Lupold Addams, who once studied law, is the head of the family and enjoys smoking cigars and depicting train accidents with his model railway. His wife, the vampiric Morticia A. Addams, on the other hand, delights in beheading her favorite flowers, the roses, before placing them in a vase. Which of course means that they cannot emit any scent. This explains to me why I cannot smell a single flower. There is only one vegetation living there: "Cleopatra," the giant carnivorous plant.
Gomez and Morticia have two children, their son Pugsley and their daughter Wednesday.
Wednesday is a serious and emotionless personality with morbid humor, occasional melancholic phases, and a constant urge to injure or, if possible, kill her brother. Meanwhile, the naive Pugsley has the talent to survive any assassination attempts and murder plots.
The dark character of this family is rather unconventional and somewhat abstract for us "mortals," but by no means unsympathetic. They live in a pact with the occult and supernatural, consume foods that are inedible or even completely deadly for normal people, and love to engage in self-destructive activities or torment each other. Morticia and Gomez are permanently infatuated with each other, and it drives Gomez crazy in a positive way when she speaks French to him. Their mutual passion is daring and dark, very dark.
In damp cellar vaults, they indulge in obscure games that most of us would only turn away from in shock.
But I observe them for a while, fascinated from a safe distance, and can distinctly catch their lasciviously strict and slightly moldy scent... it is daring and yet eerily sensual!
Now I quickly pull back my nose and open my eyes before I get discovered and devoured or possibly tortured to the brink of pleasure......
~
Conclusion:
Sandalo by Ortiga is not a cuddly scent, as I am used to from the usual sandalwood candidates or at least expect. When I was informed that it is not "cuddly," I would never have dreamed of this mysterious scent aura. Yes, you read that right, "dreamed"! Because Sandalo is not boring, as I had expected, but an adventure and at the same time a journey into a dark, somewhat eerie world ...
Sandalo is one-dimensional and dirty! Sandalo is corrupted! Sandalo smells of sandalwood with wet, sweaty leather, with sweat, with cellar, with smoke, with blood, and with... goodness, I don't know what else, but it definitely smells damn cryptic! And yet it presents itself as incredibly sexy, grimy, mysterious, and a little bit perverse! I could bet that there is also patchouli and something "organic" in it.....
~
Recommended for all scattered descendants of the Addams on the planet, vampires, BDSM enthusiasts, Satanists, goths, gravekeepers, gravediggers, and crazies like you and me who just want to drift olfactorily into the dark. I find Sandalo "eerily" attractive!
The only downside: it unfortunately lasts only a few hours.... but honestly: WHO would want to endure such a mess for longer than these few hours???
It’s worth taking a sniff... at least that’s what the cold little hand advises! - (or was it Cousin Itt?) :-)
