Spring in a Bottle
Freesia is the main note I smell, followed by water-lily. Next a hint of gardenia slips in and just when you think it's a floral fruity spring garden, cardamom, musk and the slightest pinch of vanilla give it some extra edge and raise it from a *mere* fruity floral to something more worthy of the De La Renta name & reputation.

The water lily keeps it light and fresh, the freesia seduces me over and over to smell my wrists (the freesia note is very noticeable on me! I love that because I love freesias) the gardenia gives it more dept. And the gourmand notes give it personality. Wonderfully done! It's a happy classy floral with a fruity juicy edge that gets more character in the dry-down without losing its floral smile.

Fresh, loveable easy to wear and IMO suitable for every age and occasion. An Italian spring near Lake Garda. The bottle is also very chic. Almost devoid of any markings except for the slight engraving of the "SOdelarenta" name on the gold rim on the cap. It looks as though it's a perfume 'decanter'....waiting to get filled when empty. A very elegant flacon for your vanity.

Silage is: "fresh flowers that seduce you with innocence, than show you some spice" -- Silage is decent: 5+ hours on me. Another beautiful "Oscar" that I will keep in my bedroom! ; )

A crisp, refreshing floral
I bought this for my mother for Christmas. I picked it up at a bargain price and was rather pleased with myself because finding the perfect fragrance for my mother is a difficult task.

So de la Renta smells like roses. Not the heavy kind, more like a Spring-appropriate pink rose with citrus undertones and watery melon.

The opening notes of melon and gardenia make quite an interesting and unique blend. I'm not surprised that this is a classic and rather popular fragrance. I may be young but even I enjoy wearing this on certain occasions. So de la Renta also has great sillage and comes in a classy and well-designed bottle which looks great when displayed on a dresser.

So de la Renta, unfortunately a forgotten scent :(
I can only recommend this little gem to anyone who loves floral perfumes with a slightly fruity touch!
So de la Renta is lightly fruity upon application with sweet-sparkling mandarin, freesia, sweet-scented white gardenia, watermelon, a bit of mango, and a slightly noticeable cardamom note..
The heart note brings in beautiful floral notes such as daffodil reminiscent of spring, white lily, intensely fragrant peony, and jasmine, along with delicately scented lotus flower and sensual tuberose :)
This beautifully floral-light fruity elixir has white musk and vanilla in the base note, giving the perfume a slightly powdery character.
So de la Renta is simply worth buying!
I actually find it a bit sad that this scent has been forgotten, it would surely please many here!

Please test!

The Duracell Bunny Wore a Watermelon
So de la Renta is an optimistic and fresh floral-fruity scent.
At first, a sweet, ripe watermelon hits my nose, and unfortunately, it stays there and doesn't bounce around with its scratchy freshness, but rather lingers in my nostrils. I find this as exhausting as the hectic pink Duracell bunny.

Behind the exuberant watermelon, other fruity notes emerge that I can't really break down into the notes listed in the pyramid. They are more fresh, not overly sweet notes, and they are not berry-like either. Floral scents group around them, which I perceive as bright, especially white, pink, or softly yellow-tinged. Spring freshness. Again, I can't really assign the floral notes to the notes in the pyramid; I can't pick them out. If there were something about lily of the valley and honeysuckle, I would believe that too; there is a clean freshness and a certain coolness prevailing here. And still, the melon hovers like a spirit over the waters, if you can call this high-frequency shimmering and vibrating hovering. This irritates me, making me frantic and irritable. I think others would perceive the scent as energetic, energizing, refreshing, or stimulating. After a while, I get a real headache from it.

The base turns slightly soapy for me, still more fresh than warm, and I don't know how they do it; even the base still has a bit of calone-melon quality.

The longevity is good, especially impressive is the longevity of the watermelon. The bottle is beautiful and elegant, a gem on the shelf, fits well in the hand, and is easy to use.

After reading my comment again: This is not a teen scent; it is definitely suitable for adults. However, its elegance is spoiled for me by the watermelon. Unfortunately, I really can't do anything with this note.

Update on 24.11.: I must apologize; now in the cold season, this scent fits wonderfully with me, the annoying watermelon has been tamed and no longer bothers, and everything is good, very good even. I now perceive So de la Renta as an all-around pleasant, cheerful, airy floral scent with fruity accents that accompanies me long-lasting and smiling throughout the day.
But who would even think that such a summery-sounding scent would be an ideal winter fragrance for me and a flop in summer? (Maybe I would, after all, I've already noticed that I find several heavy, oriental scents much nicer in summer than in winter...)

Heart & drydown to kneel for
The top note here immediately reminds me of Jardins de Bagatelle Eau de Parfum, only this one is SO much fruitier and you don't fall head over heels, like a little bee into the flowers, covered in floral nectar. It is much more gracious, harmonious, but the two are similar, strikingly similar. One could express it differently and say, it is more boring, but I don't like such terms. For me, there is almost no boring fragrance. There are soft and loud ones, just like everything in between (just like with us humans).
I definitely smell narcissus right away, as well as melon and gardenia. Here, it doesn't bother me. It blooms abundantly, so many colors dance in the air, yellow, red, pink, and blue, but the scent does not feel overloaded.

Well, I somehow thought this would last much longer, but already after 15 minutes, the fragrance takes on a completely different character. It gently settles on the skin, is that the musk? But what a gentle musk kiss. I swear, I could also smell a tiny hint of grated vanilla pod. A glance at the pyramid proves that my nose is not mistaken. I perceive tuberose, but it has nothing in common with the typical scratchy, in-your-face Tubi.

Something, in every sense ripe, fruity prevents the scent from slipping into the one-dimensional and becoming a plain old 8711. That must be the plum? I must admit, I don't know how a plum smells in perfumes. Here, I can't recognize it, but the heart is perfect just as it is. Slightly sweet, it has not lost its floral crown, but has become much more harmonious and even a bit sexy. Again, is it the plum that makes this or what smells so seductive and simultaneously well-groomed here?
This heart remains and does not beat for long. After 4 hours, there is only a trace left. Now I only smell musk tuberose and have to keep sniffing it.

Oh, I love So de la Renta Eau de Toilette. I think the Oscar fragrances are the best affordable designer scents. You don't get "for the price okay" but a perfume that smells high-quality, was lovingly created, and would certainly win in a blind test in the top 10. Even the bottle is a dream. So simple yet still romantic and beautiful to look at.

Now I just need to smell every single Oscar, nothing more. Just all of them.
Already "** d'Oscar (Eau de Toilette) | Oscar de la Renta" has been living in my head since I smelled it. But can someone please tell me why these asterisks instead of ..the rest of the name?

Smells like fruity body lotion, then in the dry down, powdery vanilla + musk. "Unfashionable" but carefree! Delicious, well-groomed, great!

Beautiful, fairy-like, quite light, I can hardly smell it, what a pity! I barely notice the watermelon, just the other fruits and flowers.
