Chocolate & caramelized violets cake
For me this perfume has two very different phases. On the one hand, the output is totally chocolatey, but showing a dark chocolate above 85%, almost without sugar. It reminds me a bit of sammarco's bon-t chocolate. It is a powerful start with a dirty and animalistic character. Little by little, the strength of that chocolate decreases and violets appear, giving it a beautiful floral character and much more bearable. The base of the perfume is Amber with a woody touch although what stands out the most is as its name indicates the chocolate and violets, giving it a point between bitter, powdery and sweet. The drying is more fruity, being the apricot very noticeable. Worth it.

My favorite PK fragrance
For me, what makes the surprise factor from this great creation from Paul is not the news in the notes itself but the way that they are combined. Paul produces an harmony around the violet and cocoa accord that doesn't smell like anything else i have tried so far. The chocolate smell at the opening is not sickening neither so sugary, it seems like a bitter chocolate licquer with honey nuances in a scent that slowly reveal the violet smell. This is a sugary violet, a little bit earthy too, that reminds me the smell of candy, as if he has made a fruity, violet candy covered with an expensive chocolate. The perfume goes without rushing into a amber base without you notice it, because where the violet and chocolate ends starts the amber without any abrupt change. I like how there isn't an overdose of ambroxan or similar materials here to give that glossy and satin effect to the composition. It's for me an incredible fragrance that i would recommend you all to try, even that it's only for the novelty factor.

It will never be a Sachertorte
Until a few years ago, I enjoyed baking cakes. But now there are only two of us, and when I bake a cake, we can nibble on it for many days. Usually, it doesn't taste good after a while, and the rest ends up in the compost. My husband eats very little sweet stuff. I love sweets, but now I have to eat in moderation, otherwise I gain weight, something I never knew before.
So, I decided some time ago to inspect the large drawer with the baking ingredients and to throw everything that had become old and stale into the compost.
Because this drawer smelled about as bad as "Violet Chocolatier" smells to me after about two hours.
First, I smell bitter and woody cocoa powder that has been at home with me for several years in its package; it has that certain musty smell. Then "Violet Chocolatier" turns dark green for a while with a piercing spice blend note, whose spices have also long lost their youthful freshness and are somewhat damp and clumpy. And the hard, once dark piece of chocolate coating has become rock-hard, has sweated cocoa butter, and looks unappetizing with a gray mottled coating. It smells like that too, a bit rancid and musty.
But there is also a sour fruit note in the background, opened bags of dried fruits - sultanas, currants, apricots, apple slices, figs, and even candied ginger - which, although not moldy due to the sulfuring, now only smell indifferently of fruit. Only the ginger - or are they the spices like allspice, cardamom, coriander - smell a bit stronger yet still stale-musty.
At some point, "Violet Chocolatier" temporarily smells slightly animalistic. Ah, that’s the clumped ammonium bicarbonate; it still has an ammonia smell. This is probably where the previously piercing note comes from. That’s how pepper and gingerbread dough smell when left standing with the incorporated ammonium bicarbonate.
After I have put everything from the bags and packages into the compost and disposed of the packaging in the regular waste, there is still the bag with the dried fruits.
And now I notice that they can't be that old after all. Because slowly, a nice aromatic scent of dried apricots and apples and a bit of sweet sultanas is coming from the bag.
I smell it, and indeed it mainly smells of dried apricots. Unfortunately, they too have taken on the old and musty smell of the cocoa and the coating, although they no longer smell inedible. This is somewhat how "Violet Chocolatier" has developed; it even becomes slightly sweet and powdery and smells of woody cocoa. If I concentrate very hard, I think I can also perceive a very faint hint of a floral blend, but it is so weak that I cannot identify any of the flowers listed above.
As time goes on, "Violet Chocolatier" becomes even drier, more powdery, and I think the scent now resembles some L'Artisan fragrances. With the difference that "Violet Chocolatier" is more complex, not so minimalist. A gourmand yet not one, dusty, powdery, and dry.
Although "Violet Chocolatier" has a development, the sillage has not weakened, and the intensity suggests a long-lasting presence.
I realize that I have gotten used to "Violet Chocolatier" and no longer find it so musty, dusty, harsh, and uninviting. I would actually like to wear it from time to time. But it has not transformed into a Sachertorte, as depicted on the card where the vial is placed.
I also cannot agree with the classification as solely a feminine fragrance. However, "Violet Chocolatier" is not a scent for sweet tooths, neither for females nor males.

Flowery perfume, bit powdery with Violet at the main role. With them a dark chocolate rounded by apricots and an ambery and balsámic base.

Cocoa, rose, and violet with a hint of honey. The resins are very subtle. A linear scent. Unfortunately, the performance isn't great. Nice.

Violets dissolved in cocoa... a very strange mix.

The emphasis here is too much on the floral and fruity side. I also don't like it when (fruit) is present in chocolate. (...)

First, musty cocoa, piercingly green, sharp, bland, old spices, sour. Over time: authentic apricot scent, cocoa-powdery, spicy.

A praline made of high-percentage milk chocolate with an apricot-violet-honey filling. Very waxy inside, dusted with cocoa on the outside.
