First Penhaligon's - instant hit
On my latest trip to Sacks I stopped by Penhaligon's stand and sampled some of their offerings. The first one I tried was The Omniscient Mister Thompson - it was pleasant nice iris based smell, inoffensive and great for the office. The second was Halfeti which I liked but I have too many oud & rose fragrances therefore I passed. The third was Sartorial which did not make a lasting impression, I should have probably sprayed it on skin to get a better impression but unfortunately I did not. Last was Halfeti Leather which was a love of first sniff.
When I smelled Halfeti Leather initially I got a blast of red fruit, oud and citruses, as it was on a strip it quickly went into drydown which was dominated by Cedar/Sandalwood and incense. I sprayed it on my skin and the fragrance actually exhibited deeper notes - initially besides the red fruit, oud and citruses I could detect cardamon and whiffs of cinnamon. As the scent developed and moved to drydown I could detect the leather woven through the cedarwood and incense.
This is my first Penhaligon's and will be the only one for a while as my collection is pretty big and I will probably add as I dispose of what I have. However, I am definitely going to order a discovery set as I am really impressed by what I tried out in Sacks.
