Zofka – Parfum Vanille

Lothair is structurally very similar to Sartorial. Like Sartorial, the note breakdown suggests it could be a mess of the fragrance, but in reality it is a beautiful and balanced fragrance. One can smell most of the notes from the breakdown. Lothair is a bomb of positivity. A liquid sunny day.
It opens with strong Bombay Sapphire-like juniper, spicy cardamom and sunny grapefruit. This opening reminds me of L’Occitane’s Eau des Baux. The fougere lavender is well hidden, and overshadowed with milky fig leaf and a soft black tea note. Deep in the background there is a fragile flowery note, possibly magnolia. I really like the ambergris note of sea wind. I live on the sea, and this note is completely realistic. The base is woodsy and archaic, made of cedar and teak wood. The vanilla of the base is soft and very transparent. Perfectly harmonized with the woods.
Lothair is a beautiful creation. Archaic, yet modern. Transparent and credible.

Cardamom Love
Never been a fan of Penhaligon’s, but when the lady sprayed this to me it was a shock...

W O W !!!!

This is one of the best classy smells on earth.

It’s like a clean fresh shower with a gin tonic and sweet cardamom vanilla. Feels like you’re in a beautiful countryside in spring. Lots of things happening in this juice. The fig milk gives it that non cloying sweetness, that herbal nature sweet beauty.

If u like fresh, clean, green, vegan sweet frags u wanna try this. Bertrand is such a genius!!!!

Very good and original fragrance.
This perfume is very balanced. Fresh and gourmand at te same time!...Very good. It is an outsider perfume compared to the usual Penhaligon's family.

BEAUTIFUL VANILLA , BERGAMOT AND FIG
This is a journey of perfectness. Although not mentioned in the notes, I also detect black pepper type of smell in the notes and its mixture with vanilla is for me incredible. These type of unique perfections are of interest to me.

Starchy, spicy lavender latte
Lothair is a perfume that smells Scottish for no apparent reason other than I think the initial wallop of metallic lavender, starchy rhubarb, black pepper, and milky cedar is what I imagine a thick, purplish carpeting of thistle or heather on highlands to smell like. The punchy, herbal opening smells hoary and old-mannish to me in the best way possible, like an entrance hall thick with the smell of waxed jackets and tweeds and galoshes (and perhaps the odd bit of Lynx too, for good measure). High country pursuits, then, which, while not typically part of the cultural ‘scent’ lexicon for a woman in her forties from a working-class Irish background, still occupy a shape in the scent library of my mind. Lothair brings in some tonka bean towards the end, but it never smells creamy, just aromatic and kind of manly.

People say they smell fig and black tea in this, and that may be true, but I smell more of those hot metal bars on the old electric Calor gas heaters and the thick, fuzzy scent of wet wool fibers fluffing up when exposed to the intense heat confined to the 2cm radius of the bars. Kind of Gris Clair-ish but better, in that the metallic lavender-tonka combo keeps the screechiness to a minimum and clothes it all in a rich, dry, yet almost lactonic cedar that smells like a special type of incense only the rich can afford. It’s all very Sean Connery – gravel in the streets, butter in the sheets.

A lot going on - spicy cardamon, bright bergamot, sweet fig, florals, tea. But an interesting blend with spices & citrus taking the lead

Pleasant scent that combines green, woody and freshness. Good beginner fragrance when it comes to more mature smells

A scent that is woody, spicy, floral, fresh, herbal, and hard to categorize. A note or two less would be a bit more advantageous here.

Lavender-Tonka à la "Gris Clair", powerfully peppered, tea steam in fresh frosty air & a couple of pine needles. Voila: a top-notch Christmas scent!

A packed fougère that I especially appreciate for the fig-tea combo. It's exotic, beautiful, and classically elevated.

A beautiful combination of delicate spice, dry woods, and a subtle sweet cream note. A real crowd-pleaser without feeling generic. Lovely!

Fig has a tough time with me. But what’s served here with floral fig milk, spices, and black tea is almost star-level!

Perfect blend. Citrusy start, then airy lavender and warm-sweet tea follow. Juniper adds a refined touch.
