goth perfume for people who are a little polite with it
test on paper only:
just stumbled across this in my local perfume shop while trying to find goth perfumes. this is simply stunning, rose and resins and sweet-stickiness and unlit incense: agarwood/aloeswood and sandalwood. it is much more than just smoke, in fact there isn't any smoke at all really, but the anticipation of smoke - it reminds me of temples or buddhist altars. soothing and beautiful and makes me want to inhale deeply and meditate.

you bet i'm going to go back and try this on skin!

Curious Smoke
Not the norm type smoke, no woods and different warmth to it. Think Blamage church like smoke accord, without the woods, strong, yes bit feminine but in a resins Birch tar type way, somber opening, ritualistic, gets peppery and brings to warmth as progresses. Loveing the Perfumer Hs more and more, just each so well banaced.

Smoke Made from Dreams
I don't have particularly pronounced or exclusive tastes when it comes to fragrances. Yes, over time, more and more niche perfumes have found their way into my collection, but I still love my designer scents. However, one cannot deny that the more you know, the more you want to learn. There is never enough when it comes to new fragrance discoveries, so the house of Perfumer H did not pass me by.

As a gourmand lover, I have a certain hesitation regarding "special" niche fragrances; I want to test everything, but just because I prefer sweeter scents, I don't want to evaluate a fragrance from a direction I have no clue about. I felt the same way about the Perfumer H house. What if I don't understand it? What if I can't recognize the beauty? Doubts plagued me, but curiosity won out, so off I went - and the samples were already organized.

First, I watched a video on YouTube, and there I saw this woman, very fascinating, simply dressed; she seemed to speak so lovingly about her fragrances and her concept that I was completely engrossed in her narrative. The video showed how a glassblower made the bottles; it was not some typical promotional video that slowly gets on your nerves, no overwhelming advertising bombardment, but a well-made report about the idea, the manufacturing process, and the concept. Lyn H especially talked about how proud she was of two of her fragrances, Ink and Smoke. I had concerns about Ink, but Smoke intrigued me right away.

Time passed, my samples arrived, and I waited until I finally had time to sit down and calmly test these fragrances. First up was Smoke. I sprayed it - the scent was fine, had no overwhelming sillage, it lay so lightly on my skin and melted away so quickly that the puddle was gone before I could blink. I inhaled - at first, I noticed the incense, not a piercing, suffocating one, but a noble, fine, elegant incense. What started as spicy and herbaceous slowly became warmer and sweeter. I thought, this has been done a hundred times, hundreds of incense fragrances, why did this one smell different? How can a fragrance truly represent what it is named? The scent was indeed like smoke, a light, balsamic cloud that carried me away from my stressed daily life into some daydreams. So light, so warm, so delicious. I felt a bit slowed down, lingering with my nose in the crook of my arm. I breathed in and out...in and out... Like a fine veil that warmed me, relaxed me, and above all, was meant just for me. Very well done, dear Lyn H. Now I have no more hesitation and will soon test much more of your works. Thank you for the beautiful experience :)

"Smoke" or "Whiff"
"Smoke - it’s going to be strong and definitely blow me away," I thought to myself when I read the name.. the ingredients confirmed this thought for me as well…
I didn’t find much to read about the scent.. So, I visited one of my favorite perfumeries to test Smoke.

A quick spray and it immediately starts with fresh, in my nose, Ottoman green incense, which I really love…

Gentle resinous notes accompany the green incense…

…a subtle rose sneaks in and flashes briefly from time to time…

The chamomile makes a brief appearance and leaves a hint of not being there…

…A light sweetness comes in, spicy and nutty… Cardamom shows up bare and adds that certain something…

Birch tar, oud, and the wood blend together, giving the scent its structure, but they don’t really break through…

The fragrance is feather-light, gentle, incense-like, and with subtle sweetness, soft rose kisses, and cheeky cardamom…

For me, a beautiful composition, even though I had expected something "heavy"... no dense smoke, nothing tarry, and by no means any oud… just soft, delicately sweet green incense…

The longevity is quite good, but the scent is rather close to the skin and doesn’t annoy, I would say it’s a quiet presence…

For those who want to be gently enveloped in incense: definitely give this one a try :-)

Sweetly feminine-leaning. Far removed from barbecues and bonfires. This is smoke from a boudoir, or the burning of Papier d'Arménie. Lovely!

Chic cigarette ash, but the atomiser is awful. An interesting spicy-smoky composition nonetheless, but I could find similar for better value

Not smoky but sweetish grey stale moist air with some flowery and spicy hints, quite synthetic and lame for the price.

Sweet smoke, heavy with benzoin, geranium adds a bit of freshness, labdanum warms nicely. I wish there was more chamomile. And yes, oud comes in **

Consistently honey-resin-sweet, it increasingly develops a subtle (!) smoky note. Accompanied by green, woody, and spicy aspects.

I didn't think / expect that the smoke would be rather sweet here. Besides, I like benzoin resin, dry- +
