Soft, dewy, fresh air
Disclaimer, I'm a big fan of fresh, musky, 'laundry' scents as my everyday wear.
This was love at first sniff for me.
Coming into winter I tend to get a little scattergun with trying to choose the right everyday scent because I want something a bit softer and cozier than the usual 'clean girl' scents (think Byredo Blanche, or Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning), but I have a real problem with most vanilla smells and find a lot of more winter-leaning scents a bit too heavy for me.
Que: Rain Cloud by Perfumer H.
I sprayed this in a wee boutique in Glasgow (big plug for Godshot studio, they're amazing) and immediately fell in love. It does feel true to its name - it's like falling into a dewy, cozy cloud - but it's got an unavoidable sweet sugary vanilla note which stops short of being overbearing or cloying (I get headaches quite easily from certain notes, particularly sweet ones - and I've been fine with this one!).
When I spray this on clothes rather than my skin, there's also a green aspect that I'm obsessed with. It's soft and leafy, underpinned by a sturdy woody note. Really beautiful.
My boyfriend even wore this one and it smelt amazing. Towards the end of the dry down the vanilla starts coming through a lot more prominently but still felt very safely unisex.
Bought a 9ml bottle of this but definitely going to look at buying a bigger one. Very intrigued to know what this would smell like in the warmer months, but feels like a solid autumn/winter bottle.
