Finally, some citrics for me
Citrus notes, after all, people like. They brighten the mood, create wearable warmth in summer and freshen the air. Products in the retail trade like to make themselves more attractive to consumers in this way, be it the room freshener in the bathroom, a fabric softener for the laundry or even a shower gel under the shower of water. Lemon and co are as well known as they are popular and it is this very prominence that bores me, downright puts me off. Too often fragrances with lemon, orange etc remind me of common household remedies that I really can't smell anymore. The nicer it is when I am convinced of the opposite - as just with this one - Arancia di Sicilia

Admittedly, it is here less about the above-described scent of lemon, but much more about the blood orange. Nevertheless, this fruit counts as a citrus fruit for me. It is the main protagonist of the perfume and convinces me with its authenticity. Even if it comes across as very synthetic and squeaky at first, it then transforms into a real blood orange. A fruit whose reddish juice just emerges from the pulp and drips into a chilled glass. I'm on holiday again, the evening sun irradiating people's already tanned skin. The shallow summer warmth draws people out into the fresh air. And, I mean, what's better now than a touch of tangy-sweet lightness on the skin?
Arancia di Sicilia doesn't smother you - no - the scent is anything but dense. Rather, he warms cool hearts, provides a good mood and smiling faces. The fruitiness is rounded out brilliantly, though the only thing I really detect is a hint of cinnamon. And it is precisely this cuddly spice that gives the fragrance its warmth. Briefly, the spices even take over, leaving me to ponder... for a moment. Is this a pure spring-summer fragrance or does it also go in the winter?
But already a short moment later, the blood orange fights out again and lingers- magical.

To break the whole thing down a little:
For me, this scent is still too little on everyone's lips, because this is no ordinary citrus scent that just refreshes you. You get more than that.
It remains a spring-summer fragrance and so I too finally have a citrusy fruit freshener that doesn't bore me, it just makes me happy. He is wearable in any situation and, if you ask me, an absolute Crowdpleaser.

In this sense, happy sniffing

Dolce vita
Years ago I was in Sicily in spring, and what I found fascinating at this time of year was the scent that enveloped the whole island. That was the smell of the sea mixed with the various citrus fruits and sweets. That is exactly what Arancia Di Sicilia promises and keeps. These are fresh oranges, orange peel, orange jam, candied oranges, orange sweets and orange muffins in one bottle, but the fragrance never gets too sweet or sticky. Overall, this is a very positive and harmonious creation. Ideal day companion for autumn to lift the spirits. And for me personally a memory of the beautiful time on Sicily

A versatile orange for gourmand lovers
Orange or generally citrus "solifruit" scents are not really my jam, but this one made me curious due to all the gourmand notes. And it didn't disappoint! This is a citrus scent for people who aren't that much into citrus.

Now don't get me wrong, bittersweet blood orange is clearly the main note here. Juice, zest and piths. It's sparkling and fresh like a homemade lemonade. But there's so much more to it. Vanilla, obviously, warms up the scent. Cinnamon makes it slightly spicy and interesting. Labdanum and amber only become noticeable after a couple hour for a softly balsamic base. By the way, isn't it a bit unnecessary to list labdanum and vanilla AND amber, when the amber accord usually consists mainly of labdanum and vanilla? Anyways, there is also something about this that makes me think of caramel, fresh out of the pot, but not burnt. It's a beautiful combination.
My only criticism is that I don't really get the coffee note that is supposed to be in the base. Maybe a bit, if I try really hard to single it out, but I wouldn't have thought of coffee if I smelled this blindly and I think I would have loved some more coffee here.

This is a versatile scent in a way. Citrus is always a good option for summer, and Arancia di Sicilia is certainly sparkling and refreshing enough for hot days. But the cinnamon and ambery base make me think that this would also work well for fall and winter. Just think of the clove-spiked mandarins that are used around Christmas to decorate. Oranges can definitely be festive and wintery. I imagine this would be perfect when you're in the middle of the holiday hustle and bustle and need something energizing instead of the usual heavy winter scents.

Better Amyris Homme
Fresh, zesty blood orange with most of the citric sharpness blunted by a creamy vanilla. A soft dusting of cinnamon and resinous amber add a touch of balancing warmth, along with a bit of floral iris peeking through from the base. Very well blended, quite gourmandish. Drydown goes in an ambery musk direction. Soft projection for 3-4hr, longevity 8-10hr.

Extremely similar to MFK Amyris Homme, including sharing common core notes of orange + vanilla + iris + cinnamon. The flavor is a bit different between mandarin vs blood orange. This is a little zingier, the almond makes it a smidge creamier, the amber adds a resinous touch to the vanilla. Maybe not as heavy on the iris, which is a note I tend to heavily favor but I like the blood orange here more. The stronger cinnamon note and weaker iris make it more gourmand. Kinda sits between the EDT and Extrait as far as density/thickness. Unfortunately, they certainly have the performance advantage as this is rather soft projecting.

Fresh, sweet, citrus-and-spices gourmand blend
Arancia di Sicilia is my first try from Perris Monte Carlo. It’s one of the house’s more recent releases (from 2019) and, as best I can tell, one of the more discussed. On name alone, it sounds it should be a citrus-dominant mix, but the note breakdown is much more interesting, and the same can be said of the fragrance itself, which definitely has a prominent sweet-and-creamy citrus aspect to it, but smells far more of a blended dessert, with notes of almond, cinnamon, and coffee.

So while it’s fresh and citrus to some extent, is far more of a mixed experience, but still very sweet and almost entirely gourmand, with very good performance. So it has freshness and sweetness, with a sort of year-round friendliness, mostly for gourmand fans. And it’s not particularly redundant with entries that may sound similar, like Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo, which is a superb expression of the citrus/vanilla blend but does not entail some of the other attributes of Arancia di Sicilia.

Arancia di Sicilia is sold in the US by Indigo Perfumery, Luckyscent, and some department stores like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, and is priced at $190 for 100ml in EDP concentration, a fair price point for the quality of the juice.

This is very impressive stuff and will have to be on my list as a future acquisition.

Fresh, zesty blood orange with creamy vanilla. A soft cinnamon dusting + amber add balancing warmth, plus underlying iris. Amyris Homme-like
