First of all: I am reviewing the vintage version without the image on the bottle. The newer ones have worse longevity, whether they smell different I cannot judge.
This perfume is probably one of the oldest and thus one of the longest used in my collection. Back then, I loved it for its scent and hated it for its longevity.
There is an incredible synthetic quality. But it doesn't smell bad; rather, it is a fragrance direction like any other. Because of it, all notes smell somewhat "futuristic." As if from a distant future where perfumes are mixed only with artificial scent molecules without any natural ingredients.
It's also hard to pick out individual notes. Yes, it is aquatic and slightly citrusy. However, the kiwi smells so artificial that you would hardly notice it if you didn't have the notes list. My nose can still detect that it is green, but all the other mentioned notes completely get lost in the sharp synthetics of the previously mentioned notes.
Somehow, it also manages to balance between shower gel scent and mysterious party scent. As if you were stepping out of a shower and immediately found yourself on the dance floor. It incredibly lifts the mood, and you don't want to stop smelling it. The dreamy image of a futuristic city always comes to my mind, where it is clinically clean and you can't find any plants. Everything is artificial, and the sun shines between the skyscrapers, not a cloud in sight. The air smells everywhere of this fragrance.
Compared to today's scents, Playboy not only dared to stand out but also conjured up an incredibly unique and pleasant fragrance that creates a completely new image of synthetics. And who knows, maybe in the far distant future, scents will smell like this again, and
Ibiza was just a few centuries ahead of us all :D
