One of the few Playboys I like!
Yes, one just enjoys sniffing through the assortment, and over the years, you certainly get to know all your regulars. Fragrances that stick around in drugstore assortments for reasons that no one can understand. Fragrances that suddenly disappear, even though you genuinely considered them to be of good quality. And those that you keep seeing but have always ignored because you thought: "If I know one, I know them all!"
That's how it was for me with the Playboy fragrances. I know "Play It Sexy" and I know "Play It Spicy." Both are totally okay for my taste, but nothing special. Both sweet, both fruity, both very sharp and youthful, and both very similar.
Only the golden packaging prompted me to test "VIP." And lo and behold: Different. Fruity and sweet, no question. It must have something that runs like a common thread through the line. But what am I sniffing here? Something that I didn't catch in my two others. Does this fragrance actually have a little "twist," as I like to call it? Seems so! What exactly it is, the fragrance pyramid doesn't reveal to me, but I like it.
Nothing new. Certainly not. But it doesn't have to be, given this price-performance ratio. So I thought to myself: "Oh come on, what’s the harm?! You’re coming with me now!"
