Holidays for everyone

We are driving along the Pacific Coast Highway in our blue convertible, someone is waiting for us in Malibu. Let's delve into this perfume which has been out of production for several years. It is immediately evident that some notes deviate from being natural, but the scent is still pleasant. At the beginning you can perceive the apple, the freshness of the mint, and the verbena. This accord continues for 5 minutes, until the heart notes come out, i.e. iris, cedar wood and a vibration of jasmine. At this stage the scent still remains fresh because the mint note shows no signs of fading, unlike the apple and verbena. It goes on like this for about 20 minutes, then there is a drop in projection, the perfume continues to be fresh even in the drydown, but this freshness is associated with a sensation of cleanliness given by the white musk.

The Better Playboy

First of all: I am reviewing the vintage version without the image on the bottle. The newer ones have a worse longevity, whether they smell different I cannot judge.

With Playboy, one is usually only accustomed to headache-inducing synthetics. However, this fragrance is different. Yes, it is also very synthetic, but that does not make it unpleasant, as is the case with most of its counterparts.

Once the initial synthetic note fades, the Neroli has a very strong presence in the fragrance progression. Normally, I am not particularly fond of Neroli. However, here it does not smell like diapers or baby wipes.
At the beginning, lemon also joins in. I cannot perceive more individual notes here, but there is definitely more present.

It smells very artificially fresh, immediately reminding one of summer and the beach. Although I first smelled this fragrance just a few months ago, it evokes feelings of nostalgia in me. I find it quite unique and hardly comparable to other fragrances.

I don’t know if it’s due to the current times, but unlike most modern fragrances, this one dares to stand out and therefore may not appeal to everyone. For teenagers on a budget, for a day at the pool/beach, or just for a hot day outdoors, this offers a pleasant alternative to the usual fresh scents. The longevity is just okay for me. You can smell it for 5-6 hours, but the sillage remains limited.

Playboy, hold on....

Well, all the fragrances from Playboy are basically worthless... but I think Malibu is the best of them all.... writing more would not be worth it for this scent^^

P.S. It’s still just as bad as the others.
