sweet but not gourmandy
Everytime I wear it , many people notice it and compliments me for how amazing I smell. This is not a gourmand but somehow sexy on me,it is very elegant and is romantic in a maternal sort of way. This is a powdery amber vanilla scent that is sweet but not Pink Sugar sweet. Just right imo. The rose isn’t that prominent to me, and we definitely smell the fruity touch from the pear and black currant. I think this is “well blended” in the sense that you can’t smell a harsh transition from opening to the drydown. A warm, securing embrace by a large and fancy lady who is sweet and soft but also strong and supportive.
I was disappointed when I heard the news that this is discontinued....

La Nuit Tresor a la Folie
Impressive. Warm. Luxurious. Gorgeous. Deep. Rich. Smooth. Perfection. Addictive. These are just some of the words that come to mind when I think about this beautiful fragrance.

Decidedly one of the very best fragrances (and a flanker at that!) that Lancome has ever offered to us. (High praise indeed!)

I can't find a fault with this beauty. It gives me everything that I crave for in a vanilla based scent. The vanilla isn't synthetic smelling to my nose but (to my delight), rather natural and the best part is that it's pronounced and stays that way through the entire wearing of it, never letting you forget that the vanilla is the star of the show. I can smell the juicy red currant and it mixes seamlessly with the vanilla. For me, that's what this is, juicy red fruit mixed with boozy, foodie, gourmand-ish vanilla.

It is not overly sweet and is just so well blended that it makes you feel special and unique when you are wearing it. When your body heats up, this one gives off the most spectacular scent trail. You'll be fighting off the masses who will be lining up to bury themselves in you!

They've managed to make a fruity/vanilla perfume that's mature, sophisticated and enticing. In a word, delicious! This is one that you'll actually crave. It deserves all the praise that it garners.

The bottle is undoubtedly stunning, if a little impractical for storing/handling purposes (but I can live with that!)

This fragrance was love at first sniff. Blind-buy worthy for vanilla lovers. Back-up bottle worthy. Unfortunately, it's not the easiest fragrance to find now. Here in Canada, they still sell it at Hudson's Bay (in-store and online) and on the Canadian Lancome website but I haven't spotted it anywhere else. It's also quite expensive so no back-up bottle for me just yet but when I can get a deal on another bottle, I'll be stocking up!

Nuit Tresor a la Folie and it’s magical tricks
This looks like and is a gem to me. It smells like a sweet potion infused with redcurrant and spices. There is a cherry-kissed tonka bean sweetness and a magical red-fruit stinginess and twinkling feeling. The vanillic benzoin offers warmth and depth to the scent. The rose feels somehow chocolatey, sprinkled with cocoa powder, it sometimes even gives me chocolate truffle "illusions". Now if it could only be a bit more intense because what I get is so gorgeous that I can't get enough of it. It has a very strange property in terms of how it is perceived. It is such a deep scent that you have to look for it and go through an olfactory "digging" process. So the scent is potentially but not actually there and all the fun is about trying to "catch" it. Nuit Tresor a la folie is definitely a treasure worth to be found.

From Passionate Red to Mysterious Dark: An Addictive Shadow
Right from the top, the delicious scent of vanilla, pear, and red currant is layered with rose, creating an overwhelming sensuality and deep elegance. While the original's peach and apricot symbolized romantic femininity, this new fragrance's intertwining of rose and red currant evokes the image of passionate red.

What's interesting about this fragrance is how patchouli gradually emerges over time. The patchouli lends a three-dimensional structure to the fragrance, beautifully portraying the thrill and madness lurking beneath the sweetness. The patchouli transforms the passionate red into a darker shade, seemingly inviting you into the depths suggested by the bottle's gradation of color.

Trésor retains its overwhelming volume while being beautifully reborn with a deep oriental feel. This is a sophisticated fragrance that exudes a sensual allure, and you'll be engulfed in its heat upon wearing it.

The Kaleidoscopic Fragrance
I love the original rose dominated Trésor from 1990, which became one of House Lancôme’s biggest triumphs. With the beautiful Isabella Rosselini as the face and the phrase ‘le parfum de instants precieux’ (the perfume for precious moments) it was destined to sell. Then came the flankers. And In 2015 Lancôme came up with a great idea: why not make a Tresor La Nuit? This again started an endless row of flankers. I have the original La Nuit Trésor and three flankers. All are good. A la Folie is nevertheless a tiny bit better.
When sprayed on my skin, the notes blend in and out of each other. I get rose, then vanilla, then mint (?), then back to rose, then pepper, then patchouli, then… frankly I do not know what is going on. But it is so great. This fragrance is like visiting an amusement park and trying all the merry go rounds - at the same time. Or looking into a kaleidoscope and seeing the colours and shapes changing endlessly.
I adore the bottle, as I do with all the La Nuits. Charming, a tiny ribbon on the neck, glass shaped like a gem. And it does not stand. It lies careless and effortlessly on the shelf, like an odalisque on a chaiselong. It is so ‘petite’. So ‘I want to hold you’-like.
I am a fan.

Hazy bourbon vanilla peers through amber coloured glasses whilst lazing on a velvet chaise. Gaudy, but so decadently gorgeous.

It's mainstream, it's not niche, it's a fragrance that doesn't make you an original and unique woman, but ... it's beautiful and men like it

These little fruits.
First sugary-sweet,
then slightly sour-refined,
before they entwine with dark-creamy
vanilla.
Snap, trap closed.
