In the Midst of a Summer filed

The best way I can describe Love-In-A-Mist from Providence Perfume Co. is the smell of a countryside field in the middle of Summer when the temperature is high and the sun causes all the Earthbound aromas to lift and permeate the air.

I would call this perfume a Floral-Agrestic composition, a rather unique approach to both these genres. I never smelled Love in a Mist flower so I can't pinpoint it in the composition, but I do get the clover and the mimosa. There is more to that, however. It reminds me of the countryside field flowers aroma, that I can say for sure. The opening is a bit spicy and warm, and I also get a hay and grass-like facet out of it. Especially that sun-heated hay smell that is so nostalgic to me. Slightly woody in the base. There is a nice interplay between the sweet and dewey aspects of the florals and the grassy-bitter ones. It doesn't develop much. And I'm glad, in this particular case. Sometimes you want to capture an image and hold tight to it, and that's exactly what this one does. The clarity and the vividness of the landscape this perfume evokes are incredibly powerful.

A transportive and unique perfume. One that is sure to please fans of natural perfume compositions, florals, and agrestic alike.

It's a shame that "Love-In-A-Mist" is so dominated by white flowers. Because no matter how good it is, I can't like it.
And "Love-In-A-Mist" is a good perfume. It has nothing eco-like about it.
I applied "Love-In-A-Mist" and immediately I was met not only by the very unpleasant phalanx of white flowers. Phew!
Then there was immediately another unpleasant note that doesn't belong to the white flowers.
These two notes remain intensely close to the skin throughout the entire duration..
But even in the sillage, they are unfortunately - for me - very present.
However, shortly thereafter, I smelled something green and fresh underneath, a lovely subtle sweetness, something creamy. Unbelievable, beneath the wild white flowers spread a beautiful lovely floral carpet, I can even smell rose and a floral note with bright spicy freshness combined with sweetness.
Especially in the sillage, I perceive this more intensely. And I hope that the two little stinkers will retreat. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen.
After I occupied myself with something else for a while to give "Love-In-A-Mist" time, I call it up here.
The pyramid is not very helpful, as no white flower is listed. Mimosa is not overwhelming for me, belongs to the spice flowers and is quite intense. Mimosa could have possibly mixed in with the white flowers.
Then there's the lady-in-the-green. I had to look it up on Wikipedia. Oh yes, I know it, just didn't know it was called that. A beautiful blue flower with very delicate green, especially around the blossoms.
However, the seeds of black cumin have a similar smell to cumin. This is the second unpleasant animalic scent note, animalic, overwhelming, and sweaty.
What is all contained in the beautiful floral bouquet - except for stone clover - I guessed solely with my nose. The stone or honey clover is responsible for the lovely-sweet floral note. I had guessed rockrose. I smelled something else, like roses, ylang-ylang could also be finely dosed in there, as well as a bit of clove blossom enhanced with pink pepper. A good sandalwood, used very sparingly, enhances the creaminess of the rose I smelled.
I believe: If "Love-In-A-Mist" didn't have the white flowers and the black cumin, it would be a beautiful floral perfume that I could definitely be interested in. After all, I'm always on the lookout for beautiful floral perfumes.
"Love-In-A-Mist" is a feminine scent. And for all those who like white flowers with a hint of animalism, it's a successful perfume.
