A Surprising Find (Kayali Vanilla|28 Alternative)
When I first tested this fragrance in the drugstore, I immediately thought, wow, this is a great vanilla scent that resembles "Vanilla | 28 (Eau de Parfum) | Kayali."

The opening is admittedly very synthetic.
You have to get through the first one to two minutes, then a wonderful, sweet, and spicy vanilla unfolds.
What surprised me: Vanilla is not listed in the official fragrance pyramid; instead, vanilla orchid plays a very prominent role here.
It remains the dominant note from the opening to the end.

In the drydown, the fragrance becomes a bit less sweet, but still remains very sweet.
I also perceive a slightly earthy nuance, which probably comes from the patchouli.
Otherwise, the fragrance hardly changes.
The sweetness, by the way, comes from brown sugar.
So it is not particularly complex and lacks depth, but for a fragrance in the price range of only 7 euros, you can't expect much more.

The performance is, as often with La Rive, rather moderate.
To be noticed, you should spray generously here.

For me, it is a feminine fragrance.
Most men would probably not like it, but any man who wears Vanilla | 28 Eau de Parfum can also wear this one well.

My conclusion: I already own an alternative to Vanilla | 28 Eau de Parfum and therefore would not purchase this fragrance, also because the quality and performance of La Rive fragrances, in my experience, are often not that great.
Nonetheless, this fragrance has potential.
La Rive captures the DNA of Vanilla 28 quite well here, even though it is not a 1:1 dupe.
Kudos for that!

La rive, what's going on in there??
First off, I'll just say it straight: really great work has been done here. Chapeau! A wonderfully good, inexpensive, yet not cheap, well-executed counterpart to the lady with the 28, from the drugstore segment.
A warm, amber-spicy dark adult vanilla, paired with a subtle soft jasmine and musk note. Additionally, there's a sweet, restrained patchouli joining in.
Discovered at my trusted Rossmann, I tested it on-site and immediately packed it... of course, I paid for it!
On first use, I noticed a distinct alcohol note, which quickly faded away. This is not a boozy perfume. Over time and into the dry down, the beautiful vanilla becomes more and more prominent, even powdery, and the similarity to the 28 lady with the vanilla grows stronger. The sillage is really nice, the scent aura very inviting, and the longevity on the skin is moderate, while on clothing it lasts significantly longer.
Absolute recommendation.
Love at the first sniff!

THIS IS VANILLA 28
I'm not a fan of dupes and unfortunately, I've fallen for them too many times. So far, there has always been something that didn't smell like the original to my nose. And that's actually how it should be. I've sworn to myself to buy the original instead, true to the motto "if you buy cheap, you always buy twice!"

By chance, a few days ago I stumbled upon Fleur Antique while watching an influencer on YouTube. Since I guard my Kayali 10ml Vanilla 28 bottle like my own eye and use it very sparingly, I became curious and intrigued.

Today I was in the city, so I went straight to Müller and headed for the LA RIVE shelf, searched for the scent, sprayed it, and... no, it couldn't be. I thought I'd let it dry down first, and then the scent would change enough to smell completely different. But that didn't happen. I sprayed it several more times, on strips, on my skin, always with the same feeling that I didn't smell any difference from Kayali.

For €7.99, I took it home and compared it again. I'm sorry, and I'm sure it's a personal perception, as everyone experiences scents differently, but this time I really can't smell any difference from the original.

I'll continue testing for a few more days; maybe I'll notice something that I didn't catch in such a short time, but so far I can wholeheartedly recommend all fans of Vanilla 28 to try Fleur Antique for themselves if you want to save some money. This caramelized sugary vanilla is just so great and has incredible longevity. And all at this unbelievably low price.

However, the name of the fragrance "Fleur Antique" doesn't make any sense to me at all. I have no idea what it has to do with flowers/blooms.

Totally fine for a small budget
Fleur Antique is definitely a good dupe for Kayali Vanilla 28 and for the money absolutely okay!

However, when comparing the two, I would personally lean towards the original. Why?

It is a bit more complex, sweeter, and softer.

In the La Rive dupe, there is a note that unfortunately gives me a headache, even though the scent is quite similar, possibly patchouli?
One thing must be noted: The longevity and sillage of Fleur Antique seem stronger to me than that of Vanilla 28.

No Love at First Sight ;)
Today at Rossmann, in search of something "vanilla"...
I grabbed the tester, sprayed it, and it knocked me off my feet...
I've rarely smelled something so "alcoholic" like a tipped-over perfume (and it wasn't just the tester, the original I bought smells exactly the same on the first spray)....
I thought to myself, no thanks! Absolutely not for me... I grabbed others and tested 2 more...
And just when I was about to give up, my nose went back to the first one and lo and behold "WOW!"
THIS is it...
So for those who can skillfully ignore the first 1-2 minutes or even 3 of sniffing alcohol (I would recommend spraying at least half an hour before going out) and are into vanilla mixed with tonka bean, this is a good choice...
I couldn't even detect the top note because of all the alcohol, it really burned in my nose :/
But what comes after is an absolute dream!!!
It strongly reminds me of the body lotion from Betty Barty Vanilla (I think)... The two could go well together ;)

Did it really need a vanilla scent?
La Rive screams and voilà: vanilla scent with sugar. I must admit the quality is better than okay.

Surprising newcomer.
Autumnal, spicy, but subtle.
Slightly masculine.
Not a vanilla bomb.
More unisex.
Smells more expensive than it is.

Brilliant cheapie! Almost 1:1 Vanilla | 28 Eau de Parfum, but a bit airier. Sweet-spicy, vanillic, not sticky. Dark-bright.

Spicy dark & noble vanilla that strongly reminds me of the expensive big sister. Beautiful vanilla for the cold season.

Definitely wearable for men too! First, a punch of alcohol, then a very beautiful sweet vanilla tonka dream with a warm woody undertone.

OLaLa LaRive. These are some new notes that actually appeal to me! It really leans towards V28. Dark-spicy, high-quality vanilla.

"Why does it smell like cake?" my husband asked me. Fantastic alternative to V28. A bit sweeter, less patchouli. Top!

Opens loudly & reminds me of Dubai scents. Unisex, as it's slightly masculine. Extreme longevity. Not a gourmand for me, but a good fragrance.
