A Surprisingly Beautiful, Subtle Floral
I am an iris lover, so I could not resist buying Iris de Fleur EdC after I noticed it one day on eBay whilst looking for something else. I was not sure what to expect of this vintage fragrance, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how enchanting is it.
I believe I detect a bit of orange blossom and aldehydes in the top notes. It starts out rather sweet and somewhat bubbly but also very pretty. It soon settles into a slightly warm, sweet iris that is utterly delightful. I think this would be absolutely gorgeous in extrait formulation and would rival some of my much more expensive fragrances. It is feminine, sweet, and floral all in a very innocent and girly-like way. It is totally inoffensive and could be worn any time anywhere. I expect it would do well in warmer weather but not in truly hot temperatures. As it enveloped me, I found it both enchanting and beguiling.
As nice as is this fragrance, it quickly becomes a skin scent, but perhaps this is due to the cologne's age. Projection and sillage are quite minimal after the first fifteen minutes. Longevity is at least an hour with one tiny spritz to the back of my hand. 2-4 spritzes may yield better performance. Overall, it is a very pleasing iris-centric fragrance and was well worth the small investment.
