In a Field Full of Lemon Trees
Today I come to Eclats d’Agrumes by Rochas. And no, the term “Eclats” has nothing to do with the word Eklat, meaning a scandal or sensation, but roughly translates to “shine” or “glow.”
This means that the name of the fragrance could be translated as “The Shine of Citrus Fruits.” Which somehow sounds like a romantic novel set in fields full of lemon trees, where two people meet and fall in love… while in the background, cats flee in panic due to the overwhelming majority of citrus fruits in all directions… well, so much for romance :D

Silly start, I know, I’m rambling a bit, but only because I’m slowly thinking about what motifs to carve into my Halloween pumpkins and can’t think of anything else. Startled and aggressive cats with their fur standing on end could be a fun carving motif :D

But still, “The Shine of Citrus Fruits” sounds wonderful to me, as if one were standing in a field full of lemon trees, letting the beautiful landscape (and the lovely scent of the surroundings) wash over them, which must be a damn relaxing feeling!

Well, now to the fragrance!

The Fragrance:
At first, I smell very refreshing and fragrant citrus fruits, from which I can best detect lemons (or bergamots) and a hint of mandarins, which you honestly only notice if you see in the fragrance pyramid that mandarins are included. A little bit of pepper adds a fine spiciness to the whole thing, without disturbing the freshness of the scent or coming off as sharp.
A little later, the fragrance becomes warmer and more floral. A slight sweetness appears, but its origin is not yet clearly identifiable. The pineapple is only briefly detectable; otherwise, the scent becomes a bit more floral, while the citrus fruits lose some intensity but do not (yet) disappear.
A bit later, the fragrance becomes a touch sweeter, and now you can also smell that this sweetness comes from the musk, yet the scent remains mostly rather unsweet. The fruity notes are still detectable, but distinguishing these notes becomes more difficult. You can still smell lemons or bergamots, which together with the light musk and especially the gentle pepper smell excellent. In the later base, the fragrance then mostly smells floral with a remnant of citrus notes.

The Sillage and Longevity:
Citrus fruits… what does that usually tell us? Exactly: The sillage is, as with most summer citrus fragrances, not exactly stellar. In plain terms, this means: You can only smell the fragrance up close.
And the longevity here is once again only about four hours; after that, most of the scent has faded, so you should reapply.

The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and colorless. It is filled with a pleasantly pink fragrance liquid. A narrow label with the name of the fragrance is visible a little above on the front. The round cap is a small eye-catcher, as its patterns and facets make it look like a round gemstone. A beautiful bottle!

Yes, it was clear that I would like this fragrance. Of course, because citrus fruits are in it. But that doesn’t automatically mean that I would like every citrus fragrance. No, it simply depends on the interplay of all elements, and I find that this fragrance achieves that very well. It is fresh but becomes a bit warmer and more floral a little later. This makes it a lovely, light fragrance for you ladies, perfect for warm days to smell good, even if others can only smell the fragrance up close due to the weak sillage.

Aside from that, the name is also well chosen, as it gives you the feeling of strolling somewhere in spring on vacation in a Mediterranean place away from tourist centers on beautiful side streets full of flowers, fields, and avenues, letting the warm sun wash over you with lovely floral and citrus notes.

Therefore, I would recommend marking this fragrance for next spring or summer; perhaps one of you will like it :)

With a smile on my face, I believe I can effortlessly learn to float....
Exceptions prove the rule. Now I am doing what I often dislike in other comments: I am comparing a fragrance with other scents that a large number of readers probably do not know at all. I promise to keep this brief and then describe Les Cascades de Rochas - Eclats d'Agrumes as a standalone fragrance.

Les Cascades de Rochas - Eclats d'Agrumes is for me a successful blend of Eau Sensuelle (by Rochas) and Eau de Rochas Fraîche, both of which I own and really like. It has the minimal sweetness, some of the softness, and the slight floral notes of Eau Sensuelle, while also carrying the refreshingly crisp undertone of Eau de Rochas Fraîche. I find this combination of both to be exceptionally well done, and I wondered if I would have bought the other two had I known Les Cascades des Rochas earlier (I probably would have anyway).

Upon spraying, delicate bergamot and mandarin emerge first, beautifully balanced, fresh, naturally soft, and light. Soon, the surprisingly light white flowers make their presence known, which also seem subtle and fresh, just like I know from Eau de Rochas Fraîche. I even think I can perceive the wonderfully delicate and slightly powdery hint of iris.
A bit of mandarin is still present, perhaps a minimal pineapple, but I cannot detect any mango.
Gradually, the fragrance becomes more powdery and a bit warmer. It remains fresh, gentle, and floating. There is only a very light note of musk present. I still believe I can smell some iris, perhaps even a hint of oakmoss like in Eau de Rochas Fraîche, underpinned by unobtrusive, fine fruitiness.

Les Cascades des Rochas - Eclats d'Agrumes is a fragrance that immediately evokes joy, lightness, and serenity in me. It is a youthful scent, without being sweet, a fragrance that makes you feel about 5kg lighter and believe you can learn to float.
With a smile on my face.

Creamy-fruity spring/summer scent, beautifully delicate floral/musky progression, reminiscent of Chanel Paris Riviera, a compliment magnet, dreamy.

delicately fruity, with a sweet mandarin note dominating. I smell cinnamon!? Could it be the Szechuan pepper? It becomes creamier over time.
