Garden magic
Flowers are the smile of nature It works without her, but not so well.
(Max Reger)

My year could, no, should know it by now: Marcel Rochas. Unfortunately, he died in the '50s He was one of the men who loved the curves of women. Which is also reflected in the creations of his flacons to
was suspected.
From his mouth came the saying: "You have to perceive the scent of a woman before you see her.
His in-house parmeur Nicolas Mamounas created not only Lumière, but also Byzance from 1987 or Galaad from 1999 and the men's classic Macassar, a true powerhouse with 24-hour durability Wonderful vintage fragrances with expressiveness and immense durability. Infinitely female !

Lumiere was one of my mum's perfumes. And yesterday I finally got this vintage scent back in my hands.
Here Nicolas showed his tender side. A chypre creation that is uncharacteristically floral.
Lumière shines like a summer meadow in a clearing in the middle of the forest. It glows, it shimmers in the air, it sparks. Each blossom of the head and heart note listed stretches the head towards the sun. Turns, swings, and shines.
Lumière has a juicy green scent, hyacinth and lily of the valley and narcissus - not to mention ylang-ylang - are real flower wowers. Headache candidates without equal. But Lumière bundles all this in the sunlight, wraps a soft ribbon of oak moss, slightly bitter and herbaceous, around the fresh stems and gives the flowers with musk a romantic hold, like the lace paper on a Biedermeier bouquet.
Lumière is not a delicate elf, but a great green fragrance with lots of flowers, minimal floral sweetness and only a hint of aldehydes.
Mine!

Light? Meh!
I love the new Lumiere, which is 80% Gres Cabaret to me. I just had to try the original, which so many pine for. I managed to buy a part bottle of the edp -- The purple Femme-silhouetted bottle, now with orange juice. My exhilaration of this find turned into Meh! on my first test.

If the new Lumiere is 80% Gres Cabaret, then the old Lumiere is 80% Madame Rochas.

The old Lumiere opens with a classic aldehyde blast, along the lines of Madame Rochas but not as shrill. The opening gives way to a nice floral green. Pretty & long-lasting, with the Spring bulbs (hyacinths and daffodils) taking the stage, but hardly unique. It does sweeten through the wear, but I don't get the glorious woods that others report. It dries down to a soapy muck that softly lingers. The EdP wears close to the skin but for 6-8 hours.

Overall, on my skin it's very much like Madame Rochas, which is not a surprise given the shared notes. Sometimes there is a reason a fragrance is reformulated. I would have to say Lumiere was reformulated because it's not luminated. Light? Meh!

On a *brighter* note, I tested Azuree on the other arm today while testing this one. Azuree *outshines* Lumiere.

Puns intended.

i think Aldehydes and Hyacith don't go
together in my opinion their to strong
of substance it's like a power keg going
off it just make me have a
headache but the drydown is nice smells
almost like Giorgio of Beverly Hills
but more heavier and with more Aldehydes
