MUSHROOMS, MENTHOL, AND MAYHEM
It’s… okay. The first impression is a mentholated, camphorous, damp forest floor smell. The mushrooms are oddly realistic. Think: tearing open a pack of mushrooms at the grocery store. There’s also something like crushed pine needles, but the lemon? Barely there, maybe five minutes tops.

The cannabis note isn’t really “weed.” It’s closer to Tiger Balm or one of those muscle creams packed with menthol. Patchouli shows up, earthy and camphorous, but it doesn’t save the mix. The menthol takes over. It’s like my nose is wearing an ice pack.

I’ll give credit: the mushroom note is fun. Unfortunately, it’s drowned by that relentless blast of menthol. At some point I stopped thinking about perfume and started wondering if I should be rubbing this on my sore shoulders.

The visual in my head: you’re in a wet, mossy forest, happily foraging mushrooms. Then you trip, sprain your ankle, and reach for the menthol rub. Voilà. Prism Head.

Verdict: I don’t need a bottle. I can DIY this with Vicks VapoRub and a splash of patchouli oil.

Compost Sting
Earth and compost. Dirt and mushrooms. I enjoy this scent quite a bit. Prism Head opens unapologetically with an air-conditioned blast of compost (a pleasant kind), cannabis, dirt, and earthy mushrooms. This scent brings many nostalgic memories back of my childhood. When I wear this, I've become the curious kid I once was, playing in the dirt and watching the little critters moving around.

If your nose can stand the sting, there's also a nice citrus undertone with patchouli that brings freshness to the overwhelming earthiness.

No animal notes to my nose. Not the greatest performance for a full day's use but has more than enough strength (≈7 hours) with this sort of scent profile.

Overall, this is obviously not a safe blind-buy but still a very interesting fragrance.

Mushroom-picking in the sun right after rain
Unusually wearable Matos. This smells like picking porcini mushrooms in a sunlit forest right after the rain stopped. Boletus edulis! I love a good soil smell, and this one is just ~chef's kiss~! Geosmin is excellent here, just wet dirt and mushrooms all around. A must-have for mushroom and dirt fanciers! I was wary of the lemon at first, but damn, the citrus enhances everything without smelling overly lemony!

Relief After the Rain Shower
I was thrilled to test Prism Head in my favorite perfume store in Berlin. The herbal and citrusy opening with C4nnabis and lemon was surprisingly fresh. This green moisture lingers and settles on an earthy base of forest mushrooms and the damp, black soil of a forest floor after a cleansing rain shower.

I felt the sense of relief after a liberating downpour. The feeling of peace and mental clarity (I can absolutely relate to the psychedelic inspiration) after sultry days of stagnant heat and headaches. Earthy, but never "musty cellar."

I believe I've never smelled anything like this before. I would love to soak a cloth in it and place it on my face.

The apple on my head is not hit…
… and everything is flying around my nose.

I don’t love you - I do love you. The old game that I really enjoy. Controversial, ambivalent and I still don’t know - maybe after all? Should I go with you - or him?

And really heartache and all.

Prism Head has it all. It’s a big show and not a soap opera. It has power and defends it on my skin. It doesn’t want to please - but I like it more and more.

It’s morbid, then fresh again and full of spirit. Full of drive and then caught in yesterday’s cannabis forest, where it searches for mushrooms on a misty-smoky, soft ground.

My mother suddenly says very seriously: There are no apple trees in the forest.

I wake up from my daydream. My name is not Walter and my father is not Wilhelm Tell.

But still, there is this apple on my head… huh?

Be prepared to wrinkle your nose a bit: stinging compost, mushrooms, earthiness and cannabis. Strong and bold combination.

Earthy, dirty, decaying vegetation. Lemon adds a tart citrus note. Slight cannabis with incense. Rained on ashtray. Little to no sweetness.

Matos beign Matos, right? Lemon, mushroom and something Interludesque. More wearable than Jungle Jezebel.

White musk, stale geosmin, green cream (florex), some lemony spice. Matos must've been hungover - the "product" is seriously off.

Airy summer pine forest floor patch — a bit in the vein of Olympic Orchid's Olympic Rainforest. A happy contented outdoorsy smell. I dig it.

Dank forest soil made perfumey through fresh green aromatics. Pretty yet intriguing. Last no time at all. A more accessible Murkwood.

Geosmin is often intriguing (Bat), but here it is pushed too much to the forefront and sunk into oblivion with a cannabis-costus note.

Everything still wet from the rain.
The air is clear and cool.
Mushrooms grow from the dark earth.
Somewhere a fire is burning.
