Honeydew Meets Coconut
Khadlaj has launched 3 new fragrances in the Biscotti line:
"Biscotti Caramel Pop | Khadlaj / خدلج"
"Biscotti Date Toffee | Khadlaj / خدلج"
"Biscotti Melon Misk | Khadlaj / خدلج"
Since I already have similar fragrances like "Date Toffee" and "Caramel Pop" in my collection, I was particularly curious about "Melon Misk" as I really enjoy melon notes in fragrances.
The opening surprised me.
I expected watermelon, but instead, a sugary-sweet and juicy honeydew melon dominates. It exudes the typical honey scent and does not come across as a freshly cut fruit, but rather slightly synthetic, which I do not perceive negatively at all.
The honeydew melon also has a creamy, almost milky nuance.
Bergamot joins the honeydew melon, adding a citrus-fresh touch to the fragrance. However, it remains in the background and is only briefly noticeable.
After a while, coconut makes an appearance, reminding me of creamy, almost viscous coconut milk.
It gives "Biscotti Melon Misk | Khadlaj / خدلج" a slightly exotic note and harmonizes perfectly with the honeydew melon.
The fragrance progression is overall quite linear.
Only in the drydown does vanilla join in, which allows the fragrance to finish warm and minimally powdery.
For me, honeydew melon and coconut are clearly in the foreground and are the notes I perceive most intensely.
Despite being an Extrait de Parfum, the longevity is unfortunately only moderate and could be significantly better. I perceive it for about 3 to 4 hours before it becomes close to the skin.
The sillage is also not very strong.
In the first few minutes, the fragrance radiates and is very present; however, it loses intensity after a short time and becomes increasingly softer.
"Melon Misk" is young, modern, and feminine.
I think it could also be worn by a man, but he should enjoy very fruity-sweet and playful fragrances.
In summary, I can say that I liked "Biscotti Melon Misk | Khadlaj / خدلج" quite a bit.
I like that despite the fruity honeydew melon, it is not a fresh fragrance, but rather creamy, sweet, and almost gourmand.
I find the honeydew melon a successful change from the typical watermelon fragrances that are often found.
Although I like the fragrance, I will not purchase a bottle, as I would have wished for better projection from an Extrait de Parfum.
Nevertheless, I recommend everyone who likes honeydew melon to test this fragrance.
Perhaps it just needs to mature to show better performance.
