M7 to the power of 10
Jadab begins in the Extrait version with a moderately animalistic oud note. Is this high-quality synthetic oud or natural oud? I suspect a mix of both, with a larger proportion of synthetics. I wouldn't bet my hand on it - I'm not an oud connoisseur and to be honest, I don't want to become one. I can't detect any authentic stall aroma for agarwood connoisseurs, nor a monolithic modern oud base like "Oud Royal." Instead, it flutters beautifully here. Warm-spicy and just a little floral. And despite the Extrait power, it has style and is not overwhelming. What matters to me is - no note bothers me, not even over time. The overall impression remains natural until the end, and I really like that. And it truly takes patience to reach the end here, believe me…

Where others veer into the extravagant, spread-out, unusual, Jadab stays true to itself, to me. It doesn't lay its cards on the table - little scent development, but rather a steady stream of these equally warm and deeply floral elements. Dimmed at the right spots, the flowers don’t stand out at all; they slowly float in the scent flow - this has depth and is really well done!

This depth is never black or abyssal, not of the kind "can it get any darker?" - the great dimension arises from a pull of warm, calming but not intoxicating impressions. Jadab does not lure - rather, it exudes proud self-confidence, strongly intertwined. I don't recognize individual notes, nor do I want to. Because above all, there is a cozy overall impression. Quite masculine - although a woman should not appear out of place with this scent.

The perfume feels contemporary and refined, and according to the press text, the scent supposedly creates an aura of confident self-assurance around the wearer. One doesn’t have to believe that. One shouldn’t believe that. Because Jadab doesn’t aim to impress anyone - and doesn’t impress anyone in that extravagant sense. I find that very likable. Because what is also true: There are scents here that strike a similar chord and seem much more interesting in the first few moments, perhaps even rank higher. Stéphane Humbert Lucas has created a few of these candidates as well. "2022 Generation Man" sparkled in my bathroom shelf for a short time, for example. It was mostly that extravagance that didn’t allow me to warm up to such cannons for long. Sooner or later, the "Okay, I've got it now" moment came. Here, everything feels right to me. So to speak, oud and fruit or dried fruit, but without "give it to me."

My 10 up there should not lead anyone down the wrong path. Oud aficionados would probably find the scent at most "quite nice," not unique, perhaps even too gourmand. The Extrait of Jadab is a functional scent with depth. And a scent whose target audience probably doesn't notice much about it. One should rather not be looking for a high-quality luxury scent - everything here is more casual, even if the packaging and especially the price promise something different. Really not a fancy projection monster for special appearances, nor any extravagance, just durability is truly massive! (sticks like crazy) Every now and then, this boozy cola note, which some might know from YSL M7, brings good cheer; I also had this splashy association with "Tigre du Bengale."

By the way, I’ve also had the Eau under my nose - also cool, but the Extrait… the Extrait… *eye roll*…

On the first spray, my thoughts were "I need another bottle". It is very good. Holds its own very well. Great scent profile as well.

Raspberry-floral, sensual-confident, Arabic Another Oud interpretation, without the synthetics. Dreamy unisex with resinous hints!

Strongly Arabic, earthy-oud with a minty and mothball-like note in the background. No rose here.
