Commercially available matcha
This smells like green milk. The type of matcha you get at an establishment that does not specialize in tea drinks. A bit powdery, but unreasonably sweet and cloying if you overspray. I feel like I would’ve enjoyed this just a bit more if they took down the praline and sweet vanilla combo just a bit. That green powderyness with the fruits from the top notes isn’t too bad, but they went ahead and added all of the other sweet notes to appeal to the Kayali customer.

I’m not the typical Kayali customer but I decided to sample this collection because musky perfumes are in my top 3. However, this perfume is not musky at all, it’s just a creamy soft scent.

Truly Amazing
Beautiful, light and alluring. The matcha mixed with oat milk on the opening is divine and the dry down is even more stunning. Feels like a warm hug. The praline, vanilla and tonka combo is unbeatable. A creamy, subtle scent that i've never smelled in any other fragrance. Super unique. This is a lighter scent that may require significant sprays but it sticks around quite a while if you do. One or two sprays may not be enough for most to smell it.

Fleeting matcha and then it's very soft and fragile oat milk note
This is the third of the Freedom Collection perfume that I'll be testing out (will be going through them in alphabetical order).

Overall, I'm starting to get pretty disappointed in this collection. The fragrances are okay, but they're missing that extra oomph that older Kayali releases had. This one is really no different. There's a very soft, underrated, green matcha note (which was nice!) that lingers for a few minutes but then it's absorbed by the generous note of oat milk that overtakes everything. Don't be fooled though: even if oat milk is the strongest note of them all, the fragrance is fragile and weak. It's barely a skin scent after 15-20 minutes and that's coming from soneone who's skin chemistry has always vibed very well with Kayali fragrances. The drydown is musky and woody praline with the usual vanilla sweetness from Kayali.

There's not much else to say. Even though Parfumo lists a whole trove of fragrance notes, I'm only getting that: a fleeting green matcha note, creamy oat milk and then it's a musky/powdery/woody sweet vanilla drydown. Pretty linear, a bit generic. The thing that irks me the most with this one is the really weak and fragile aspect of it. Even the two previous ones had slightly better performance on my skin. This one is definitely not worth the money it's barely better than a body spray. It won't be making it into my collection.

A note on the Freedom Collection set:
I've learned from my Vacay in A Bottle blind purchase mistakes so this time I only bought the sample set and not the mini bottles. Reviews on social media have been lukewarm at best and although I'm always hyped to try out Kayali fragrances, I've become more strict about which fragrances enter my collection to avoid any waste and money ill-spent.

Based only on the fragrance notes of all four Freedom Collection fragrances, I've listed what I think will be my order of preferences : Musk Matcha| 45, Musk Latte | 41, Musk Bouquet | 27, Musk Santal | 34. At the end of the fourth review, I'll be seeing how I rank them after having tested them all.

One matcha latte to go, please... and with oat milk, please.
Of the three fragrances in Kayali's Freedom Collection, Musk Matcha interested me the most in terms of its notes. Matcha itself is becoming increasingly popular, and I'm seeing this fragrance note more and more often in new fragrances.

The fragrance opens with mild matcha green and has a sweet accent right from the start. After the initial green impressions, oat milk immediately comes to the fore and remains noticeably dominant for most of the time. The other top and heart notes remain in the background and are barely noticeable, if at all. The interplay of matcha and oat milk is well designed and, of course, very reminiscent of the currently still alternative hot drink. The matcha evaporates quickly, leaving the sweet milk behind.

After 2-3 hours, the scent has almost disappeared. It is rarely noticeable, and when it is, it is only through hints of chocolatey sweetness (traces of praline). In general, the scent usually remains only noticeable to the wearer.

The 10 ml bottle is simple and handy, but with its plastic cap, it doesn't make the most valuable impression. The pricing is also worthy of criticism. Since only 10 ml bottles are available for 3 of the 4 fragrances in the Freedom Collection, the price per ml is 2-3 times higher than that of its larger pendant, Musk Santal. In my opinion, this means that a fragrance that is actually intended as an everyday fragrance is priced in the absolute luxury segment. That's not where it should be. However, if it were to be available in 100 ml bottles one day, it could be of interest to some.

The Alternative Perfume
Smells like that matcha powder from Krüger, bland with oat milk.. strangely, I also get slight This Is Her! vibes without the chestnut. Insignificant, doesn't stay in memory. I don't understand the matcha hype anyway. I actually let myself be tempted to try this mint-green drink with oat milk! and strawberries....okay, I thought to myself....You should have just stuck with the Green Gorilla (green smoothie made from pineapple, kiwi, apple, and spinach). What should I say about longevity and sillage... it dissipates like matcha powder in a breeze. You might as well just reach for a body lotion from the brand Alverde or Sante.. no idea if they have already launched a matcha line... oat milk for sure.

Smells strongly of matcha and oat milk, with a little bit of vanilla. Very soft and powdery. The matcha latte scent is bang on, this smells edible.

The weakest of them all. Soft, green matcha and then, it's oat milk, oat milk and Kayali's usual signature drydown. Smells a bit meh.

One of the most unique, comforting and non-offensive scents I've ever tried. A masterpiece.

Was prepared to love this based on notes. Then it hit my nose: screechy rubbery PlayDoh, artificial green apple, something earthy. Not a win

Surprised by the reasonably low rating here; nice warm but essentially matcha-less opening. Brief rubber glove phase. Benign sweet drydown.

Really loved the first few minutes but this dried down on my skin to smell like damp clothes that started to mildew.

Sour and bitter to me. Powdery matcha with oat milk in the background.

Icy oat milk with vanilla matcha, green specks with a citrus twist, plus a good splash of musk.

Very difficult. I can't make out the matcha. I smell sesame instead of oat milk. I find the scent unharmonious, unfortunately.
