the better Velvet Bouquet
I think the name of this year's newly released Spirit fragrance would have suited it better, but they probably didn't think of that back then ;) It has something very velvety-soft about it, velvety-floral-fruity. Like a bouquet of dried flowers resting on velvet, with some sweet dried fruits added.
Neroli gives the top note a more mature twist, so it doesn't come across as too one-dimensional fruity-sweet.
Heliotrope brings velvetiness and a bit of powderiness to the heart, and sandalwood to the base note.
However, the sweet fruits together with vanilla or vanillin shine the strongest later on. It doesn't flatten out, orange blossom remains present. I can understand the bubble gum association; I had it briefly too. With such synthetic notes lacking a bitter counterpart, it's no wonder, but the floral components prevent it from being too childish or squeaky.
I also need to test the pour Femme, whose pyramid is actually almost the same, for comparison. I can't remember it; I probably sniffed it at some point and found it not high-quality enough for the price, especially since the bottle and name or the marketing don't trigger anything for me. The Spirit naturally has it easier to cross the buying threshold.
