Cute and creamy apricot
A warm apricot-flavored, artificially sweetened vanilla dessert with a brief doll’s head note that I rather love. Though undeniably part of the same ‘cute but brainless’ club as Abricot Vanille (Comptoir Sud Pacifique), Vahina is an attractive proposition for when you just want to smell feminine, pretty, and faintly edible. I don’t object to any of this until the fragrance craps out like a cheap car at the thirty minute mark, collapsing gracelessly into a bog standard white musk. There’s more substance to an Impulse body spray.

The Beginning of a Great Love
After three months with Parfumo, I finally feel ready to write my first review, as my previous statement seems to me to be simply not adequately appreciative of this beautiful fragrance.
Vahina was one of the first niche fragrances I had the pleasure of smelling, and it is largely responsible for all the financially very unreasonable yet happy decisions I would make in the following year. Because when I first smelled Vahina in the autumn of last year, I was immediately captivated. I instantly fell in love with this wonderfully delicate and caressing vanilla scent, which was so fruity and sparkling at the beginning and heavenly soft in the base. Back then, I wasn't as deeply engaged with fragrances and their individual notes as I am today, and so I couldn't even precisely name what I liked so much about it. Vanilla - sure, that's usually nice; but there was something else that fascinated me. Later, I realized it was the orange blossom.
Thus, Vahina not only ignited my love for (niche) fragrances but also, in particular, for orange blossom scents. I love just about everything that the orange tree offers us fragrance enthusiasts - the orange fruit, the orange peel, the orange blossom, neroli, or petitgrain. As soon as I read these notes, my interest is piqued. Ms. Delacourte seems to particularly love these notes, especially the orange blossom, as it appears quite frequently in her compositions.
Like most fragrances by Sylvaine Delacourte, Vahina is also a rather quiet and delicate scent that does not project excessively and - at least for me - does not necessarily shine with a long presence on the skin. This subtle performance initially bothered me a bit because, you know, one wants to enjoy the scent of their "invested" money for a long time. Later, I realized that I often fall in love with the quieter fragrances - they simply enchant me the most, and I always feel a little sad when I read that my delicate favorites, including Vahina, are called boring by others. Such a beautifully sweet-creamy vanilla scent is certainly not boring! But maybe I am just a little boring myself, and that’s why Vahina and I fit together so well ;)

the Delicate Blossom
The vanilla fragrance collection by Sylvaine Delacourte is very feminine, very delicate: the term "fairy scent" fits perfectly with all five compositions that I had the pleasure of testing.

"Vahina" gathers, besides the already known light-footed vanilla, mainly delicate flowers into a fragrant bouquet.
Bergamot seems to me to be the strongest companion in this filigree scent weave, closely followed by hawthorn.
This hawthorn is still in full bloom here.
We all know that these white "bouquets" in the light state of wilting often remind one of wet diapers.
Thus, the first days of May are somewhat spoiled for us; we have extensive hawthorn hedges in the vicinity of the residential complex.
The interplay of vanilla, bergamot, and fully bloomed hawthorn works very well; all three are wonderfully balanced.
To refresh, a bit of the zest of mandarin is added; this too is free of the unfortunately often encountered synthetic touch.
This mandarin is only fresh, and through it, "Vahina" becomes pleasantly lively.
Osmanthus, this noble tea plant, whose blossoms only experience one night, elegantly dances into the existing fragrance mélange. The circle of well-rounded, very charming femininity is slowly closing.
Before all the beautiful and fragrant elements of the orange trees lead this transparent arrangement to its climax, a well-measured pinch of tonka bean is added.
I am surprised that it does not bother me this time: generally, we are somewhat at odds - this sweetness often troubles me.

Thus, "Vahina" is also a very beautiful, very delicate vanilla dream; it fits very well into this five-piece vanilla collection.
The longevity corresponds to the lightness; the scent progression follows a dance that becomes noticeably quieter towards the finale but never completely fades away.
A delicate hint lingers on the skin for a long time, reminding one of the lines by Rainer Maria Rilke:
"And softly she lets the hours go and gives her soul to the dreams."

Summer Solstice
Today the elves celebrate the festival of the summer solstice.

All the virgin elf maidens are wrapped in delicate, sparkling dresses and wear flower crowns in their hair.
Some with orange blossoms,
others with osmanthus flowers,
and still others with petitgrain.
Only the little elf wears hawthorn flowers in her hair. She is the most striking, the one who will marry next. Next summer, she will no longer be there.

The bees and bumblebees join in the celebration. The delicate hint of honeycomb that surrounds them blends with the scents of the flowers.

On the gift table lie bergamots, mandarins, tonka beans, and of course vanilla pods. A little bit of everything that the women harvest.

Late, as the moon stands in the sky during this short night, they dance enchanted in a fairy circle among the mystical stones.
They spin in circles, their beautiful garments swirling around them; mixing all the scents together, always accompanied by the fresh splashes of citrus fruits.
Their heated bodies smell creamy-vanilla and just slightly of the freshly harvested tonka beans.

It is a cheerful, joyful atmosphere.

The dance fades, and in a trance, the young elf maidens lie on the ground in the stone circle, their dresses spread wide around them.

The festival is over for today, the day breaks......

Floral-fresh vanilla with citrus splashes, but despite the many white flowers, never overwhelming. It ends in a delicate, creamy, sunny base.

Here it is again!
The 90s summer sun beach scent that I have been searching for a long time. Since my first experiences with Jil Sander Sun, Fleurs des Comores by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, and other fruity sunscreen perfumes, I have been longing for the ultimate South Sea flash. And voilà! Sylvaine has conjured it up.
(However, to claim that her vanilla variations are all not sweet is simply not true, right?)
True to Sylvaine's style, it is balanced, delicate, and beautiful, ethereal and unusual. Like most of her musks, it evokes a delightful feeling, a kind of "arrival" that I currently, and probably we all at some point, greatly welcome.
It bridges the gap between cuddling and summer.
After I "quick-tested" it several times, I only got around to giving it my full attention today.
I sprayed it on and it immediately felt better. An orange milk with green dots enveloped me.
Gradually, I became more tropical-fruity-creamy. I would even bet my ass that the so-called "Queen of the Night" from Thierry Wasser's DIOR Addict makes a cameo appearance here, perhaps as a little perfumery Easter egg/side jab? Giggles.
Whatever. It was, is, and will remain beautiful.
Unfortunately too fleeting! Spoiled by Florentina and other musks and their longevity, I was surprised that after about 2 hours, I only perceived a little - skin-like - spicy flower cream. I'm a bit puzzled, because for a purchasing decision, there should be more.
However, I will use up the remaining amount and then consider whether I will ever be happy again if I can never smell it again.

Graceful women with heavy, black hair that smells of vanilla and tropical flowers.
I’m none of that.
Still like it!

Neroli incense sticks with petitgrain and fruity candy vanilla. After a delicate floral start, it leans towards Caldo Gourmand. A bit sweet.

The vanilla wants to refresh itself,
gently dabbing on Eau de Cologne.
Then it wanders into the wooden bed,
softly covering itself with blossoms.

Sweet delight of vanilla and orange blossom, which I actually find quite nice here. Sweet and so creamy with a fabric softener vibe.

A creamy vanilla-tonka mix takes center stage after a rather floral start. It's moderately sweet and very pleasing.

Delicate, soft feminine, friendly, but unisex(?) well, I don't know. I see more of the elf described by Gandix.
