I loVU

I whish I had known VU when I was younger.
It could defiantly be my signature perfume.

Its a beautiful Chypre.
Opens with mossy, woodsy-leathery
(light leather) notes.
Dries down to a woodsy honeyed
The floral base adds a little sweetness
but it is not sweet-rather clean and
Uplifting.

Ted does not disappoint

I bought this recently - blind buy. It caught my interest since I have had really positive experiences with Ted Lapidus so far. Since this is a 70s gem I was a bit curious about it - would it be too much of everything or would it actually be wearable. Maybe even likeable?
Vu is both likeable and wearable. It keeps giving during the whole journey. It can be sweet. It can be spicy. It can be seductive due to the sensual base notes. It is a keeper, that is for sure. If you get the possibility, do not hesitate.
Btw, I have an idea that Cartier did look a bit to the Vu bottle when designing Must de Cartier. Maybe I am wrong.

I have quite carefully and excitedly opened the bottle . . . . . .
Two drops on my wrist and immediately I knew "this is he" and has said it also one.
This is not at all to much for me! Perhaps also because I am so happy. I had Vu ahead of my marriage and this dates back 30 years.

The head note is very tastily and at first easily piercing but this has let me shrink back under no circumstances. On the contrary. The woody, mossy notes develop very fast. I take Chypre and keep leather. Yes, at all not sultrily and immensely sensory.
How earlier!

I have been using the male counterpart for some time and finally, thanks to a friend, the same one who introduced me to the male one, I managed to smell this one too...
It's beautiful, very beautiful. A dense and very loaded chypre, Opium-like but less intense and less ambery. I like it and I find it today a unisex that winks at the old-fashioned, old-fashioned feminine. It's true that perfumes like this can seem terribly aged, but I really like them and would use them more than willingly. Now, what does it smell like? It smells like leather, dirty cloves, earth and green moss, amber, floral indole and I don't know exactly what else, but it's a compact and unique smell, very connected. I don't detect any sweet notes, the perfume remains very dry to my nose throughout the long evolution/duration. The reality is that in this kind of perfumes I struggle to isolate the notes that I feel are very dense and very very well connected to the point to be indistinguishable individually.
Handsome.

A Piece of Youth

I still remember when my friend picked me up for our nightly "must round" and smelled absolutely wonderful.

Spicy, fruity, and sweet at the same time. Such an alluring fragrance blend!
Moreover, floral notes mixed with honey.

This rich scent had pleasantly caught in her teddy coat - and I immediately asked her about her exquisite perfume.
"Vu" - she replied proudly and pulled the bottle from her handbag.

"Vu? Seen?"

I gratefully took a spray and fell into the full scent, like into a feather bed.

But off we went - our tour through the Bermuda Triangle was waiting.

And Vu didn't mind the smells in the clubs and bars - it was above that.

Vu - and we were seen and smelled as well.

A young man commented on my scent aura.
He absolutely had to gift the perfume to his girlfriend.

And after a night of dancing, my first stop was the perfume shop, and I joyfully purchased this beautiful Lapidus.
Soon, a bottle was also on my mom's dresser.

The radio is currently playing - Black: It's a Wonderful Life.

What could match the wonderful scent and the beautiful memories better?
