Poker Face Ted Lapidus 2018

This was a blind buy from Amazon.ca for CAD $50 (vs CAD$170+ tax the OG YSL at the store).

This is a home run from Ted Lapidus. It is a gorgeous, spicy/aromatic/ creamy fragrance that is versatile enough for virtually any situation, and for every season. I wear this a lot to Church, to run errands in any given day, when I go out with my mom, and even wore it once to a successful date night.

I find it more intense and a tad bit heavier on the lavender than the OG LNDLH, and also longer lasting. You can't go wrong with this one. It makes me feel like a million bucks every time I wear it. It is very pleasant and smooth, yet the lavender adds its signature masculine touch to the composition.

IMO , completely safe blind buy, as well as a great option for gifting. This will suit better men ages 30+.

The all talked about poker face. Finally in my hands. Nice composition (I thought while reading the notes). I also was really excited to blind-buy this.
As soon as I unboxed it, the atomizor already smelled like a richer and fuller version of LNDL.
I was shocked. I have quickly sprayed it on paper and skin as well. In the opening, quite different.
In my case, a lot darker, a lot thicker and even boozy, creamy. Instant dissapointment.
I wasn't nowhere near impressed since it seemed to have many facets with multiple unsure directions.
After it settled down, divine. Spicy cardamom, creamy iris and sweet and delicious tonka bean.
In the drydown 90% LNDL edt.
Very enjoyable dna with good lasting power. 7-8 hours and decent projection. A lot better performance than newer batches of LNDL. This is competing with bleu electrique. Even though that one is more refined and better quality overall, poker face is a lot creamier, sweeter and got that spicier feeling that the old LNDL used to have. I can't wait for this to sit for a while and improve.
That iris addition is gorgeous. Also violet kicks in once in a while.
Colder days&nights when you want to smell great but not very loud.
More sexy than loud.
What else can I say ? Nothing else, besides POKER FACE ! (Exactly as I was after few full wearings).
You have to try it, especially of you love the dna of LNDL.
The prices are extremely low at times.

Typical poker faces are usually described as expressionless faces without any emotions. What associations with these descriptions are desired in connection with a fragrance creation?

I have no idea in this regard, because the perfume Poker Face by Ted Lapidus presents itself as an elegant, masculine scent with plenty of character. Sillage and longevity are unfortunately only mediocre on my skin.

At the beginning of the fragrance journey, fresh notes of mint and bergamot impress. Additionally, sweet-powdery tones of violet and iris resonate. In the heart, strong-spicy notes like lavender, pepper, and cardamom beat. These give the fragrance a lot of warmth and support a self-assured, elegant appearance. The base of patchouli, cedar, and tonka bean then brings a nice sweetness and woodiness into the fragrance experience. Overall, it feels fresh, slightly sweet, spicy, and sufficiently woody. It creates an elegant, masculine everyday companion.

A comparison to YSL La Nuit de l'Homme is naturally to be expected, as the similarities in the scent profile are particularly given by the notes of cardamom, lavender, and the powdery iris. For a weaker performance and lower investment, everyone must ultimately decide for themselves.
