Guileless Floral
D'AILLEURS ET FLEURS is another friendly floral offering from The Different Company. This one smells to me like a pleasing mélange of white flowers and linden blossom—whatever the precise floral notes are supposed to be, they blend together in this composition fairly seamlessly.

Of the perfumes of this type familiar to me, Ineke AFTER MY OWN HEART may come closest to conveying this same aesthetic, at least by its dry down (the opening of the Ineke is quite different and more enticing to me...). D'AILLEURS ET FLEURS is a subtle, feminine, and politely floral perfume with an innocent feeling to it. But the politeness is completely natural and sincere, like that of a young child before achieving the age of guile and commencing down the spiral to corruption as he fights tooth and nail to climb the social ladder.

Basically, this is springtime in a bottle, but not really better than many other perfumes of the same type.

Strange....
It may make sense in French, but in German I don't see any. "Elsewhere and Flowers"! Everyone can think what they want about that...

The scent itself is exceptionally beautiful. At the beginning, Petitgrain briefly provides a slightly woody bitterness, but that fades away very quickly.
After that, this fragrance is simply floral. I can perceive neroli and orange blossom, but not tuberose. Surely other flowers play a role here as well. The mandarin adds a certain juiciness and star anise gives a light, fleeting spicy note. The plum, on the other hand, gives it some body - it could very well be that the tuberose supports the fullness here, but it is not detectable. Slightly sweet and fruity, at the same time soft and somewhat earthy.

Even though there are quite a few floral scents of this kind, this one is a very soft, feminine representative, always and everywhere wearable, very pleasantly fragrant and unobtrusive, even for the male gender.

gentle and soapy
Thanks to dear Baux, I get to test this fragrance in search of the ultimate TDC scent for me.
The name Ailleurs et Fleur I would translate as "Elsewhere and Flowers." Flowers already sounds great, but what exactly is meant by "Ailleurs"?

Well, a gentle, but not too shy scent of various citrus blossoms opens up to me. Anyone who has a little orange tree or similar at home will recognize this scent when the tree is adorned with delicate white flowers before fruiting. Unlike citrus fruits in general, their blossoms smell quite soapy.

On the TDC page, we learn that Ailleurs et Fleurs contains Neroli, Petit Grain, plums, tuberose, bigarade orange, musk, star anise, hazelnut and elderflower, and mandarin.

For me, the bigarade orange dominates here, a type of bitter orange, but its bitterness does not come into play. Its blossom stands for me in a floral context that remains indefinable.

It is not the kind of delicate, possibly feminine floral scent that I had envisioned, but rather unisex and for citrus blossom lovers. The fragrance also leans towards the "clean scents" or "refreshing scents."

With it, one definitely comes across as clean, fresh, well-groomed, but depending on skin chemistry, it may also be too soapy. I could imagine that it works much better on men's skin.

Overall, this is a beautiful, rounded fragrance, but with the name "Ailleurs et Fleurs," the "Ailleurs" comes much more strongly into play.

Flower Shop versus Cemetery
At first, I found the scent a bit strange, but extremely interesting; I kept sniffing and pondering what it reminded me of...
The already mentioned smell of the flowers from the lemon trees was immediately present, but that alone was not it...
I could perceive other flowers, but couldn't categorize them, certainly nothing typically floral; there was also a scent of grasses, but not freshly cut grass, rather grass on its way to becoming hay.
The association of a flower shop came to mind, and that was my aha moment; for me, "Ailleurs et Fleurs" smells like a visit to the flower shop.
I can certainly understand the thought of a cemetery; the flowers have something very unique and unusual about them. While no cemetery came to mind, there is indeed a slightly morbid charm to it.
For me, it is an unusual spring scent that I have come to like and enjoy using.

Ailleurs et Fleurs
When I received my first fragrance from The Different Company yesterday (thanks to Michi on the way and get well soon), I was very curious. Unpacked, sprayed...hmmm...where do I know this scent from...waited a bit and sniffed again, this scent reminds me, SORRYYYY to all who love this fragrance, of a cemetery, where wilted flowers are disposed of, it smells just like that. It could have been that my nose played a trick on me yesterday, so I tested it again this morning...the same effect...learned my lesson about blind buys...it won't stay in my collection :-(

Beautiful, almost pure neroli with a subtle floral note. But as fleeting as a whisper, after 10 minutes skin close, after 1 hour gone.

Delicate, white, soft ladylike. Elegance in light tones, initially soapy, then musky-fluffy. One of the subtlest and most beautiful clean scents.

Gentle lime green, friendly & bright, like light, filtered through leaves & flowers. Initially milky, reminiscent of Nivea, then woody. Lovely!

A subtle, bright, fresh linden blossom variant for those who find D'Orsay's Tielleul and Lehmann's linden blossom too bold.

It feels like being pampered and moisturized straight from the bottle. A truly well-cared-for wellness cosmetic scent. Lovely linden and fresh neroli...

The floral-green intersection of shower gel, herbal bubble bath, solid flower soap, and good skin cream. When you want to feel fresh and clean.

Not overly sweet linden blossom scent with a tangy-fresh edge from orange blossoms. Perfect combo, not too floral. But it really doesn’t last long.

Many delicate linden blossoms on a freshly cleaned toilet! Hmm, the floral note is actually very nice; but the musk here is nothing.

Reminds me a lot of Hermès' Hiris. Very clean, more soapy than powdery iris with a delicate spiciness and carrot note. Like fresh laundry.

In the opening, a cheerful-transparent, unsweetened blend of neroli and linden blossoms.
After just an hour, it weakens with sudden neroli peaks.
