Okay, every time I set out to do something here that I actually want to follow through on, it goes extraordinarily wrong…
Need some examples?
I try to make fewer jokes about perfumes here. But no, it doesn't work because I apparently have a wicked streak and can't help myself, which will surely get me in trouble one day…
I try to get in better shape, achieve some success, but what happens? I catch whiffs of chocolate scents that drive my cravings to the limit… and then on days like Easter, I stuff myself with chocolate bunnies (the same game plays out at Christmas…).
Or here, with this fragrance: I try to make fewer double entendres, but then the fragrance is called “All Night Long”! Surely something entirely different is meant by that, but what does this gentleman, who is currently writing this comment, think? Of course, about endless amorous bed activities? … Tsss…
Well… I think I should finally get to the fragrance before I list more examples!
The Fragrance:
It starts briefly with a (sweet-smelling) rum-like note, which unfortunately fades away quite quickly. In reality, this impression likely comes from the ginger (which, by the way, smells stronger than indicated here on Parfumo), which combined with the other notes initially gives me a rum-like feeling, because later it smells more like the aforementioned ginger. After that, I smell sweet floral notes, especially jasmine, rose, and tuberose, just as indicated in the fragrance description, but these are a bit weak. The blueberries add a fruity tone, although I wouldn't necessarily come up with blueberries without the fragrance pyramid.
Towards the base, the intensity of the fragrance noticeably decreases, and the scent becomes softer, likely due to the benzoin, as it comes across as gentle and slightly resinous.
The sweet notes now mainly consist of amber, while the musk can only be detected much later (at which point the amber becomes weaker again). A lovely fragrance that could have handled a bit more intensity…
The Sillage and Longevity:
I find that the fragrance actually only smells a bit stronger at the beginning, as later the projection settles into the average range. It is still quite noticeable up close and when passing by. But after an hour, it is significantly weaker.
In terms of longevity, it lasts the usual six to eight hours, but by that time, the fragrance is only present close to the skin.
The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with slightly thicker edges and a base. On the front, there is a square, pale yellow label with the name of the fragrance and the round company logo. As always, the distinctive feature of the bottle is the striking, tiered, yet cylindrical cap, which is chrome-plated and makes the bottle very attractive. And somehow, when viewed from the side, the bottles always remind me of the temples of the Mayans or Aztecs, which I also find amazing. Yes, the bottle is quite beautiful.
Okay, I think this fragrance could be described as a bit seductive due to its lovely scent (musk, albeit weak). Therefore, the name “All Night Long” might not be a bad choice after all, I think… hmm… :D
The fact is that the fragrance is a lovely fruity sweet scent, later also a bit woody-resinous-sweet, that smells pleasant. It is mostly feminine, as it is occasionally a bit too floral for men, although in the later base with the amber and musk, it appears slightly unisex again.
Despite its initial intensity, I find the strength of the fragrance rather average and still consider it an all-rounder in terms of the notes, so it can be worn at any time. The occasion can also be freely chosen, whether daily, in leisure time, when going out, or for (later) evening wear (oops, another double entendre… :D), it works always.
Yes, I think this fragrance is worth sniffing!
