Bonbon Water - which doesn't have to be something bad
An exhausting workday led me past a well-known perfume shop. (Is it allowed to mention names here?) I just had to treat myself to something nice. I got stuck on Flower Violet. In hindsight, it seems to me that it was literally that.
When I sprayed it on, it smelled floral. Which is definitely the violet.
I love violets, but unfortunately, this one was a bit artificial. I guess also because it doesn’t get along with the rose. I’m a bit picky about that: In our garden, roses and violets have never bloomed together. Maybe it’s this contrast that makes me perceive it as completely unnatural?
The same goes for the raspberry.
I also smelled something fresh-citrusy. But that was - way too - quickly gone. A vision, so to speak: Of vacation. Lightness. Freedom. With a pretty purple bow on it (, which my little daughter immediately snatched at home).
What remained was the vanilla with a somewhat indefinable something. If sugar could smell, I would say that this is the scent of sugar! Too sweet for me, which is why I exchanged it for another perfume. But it wasn’t a complete flop!
I don’t really like it. But I’m not writing a total bashing review!
Because this scent is, above all, one thing for me: Sweet like chewing gum. The kind from the vending machine. The round, colorful ones that I loved to snack on as a child. That was probably what I needed that day. Not floral. Not cuddly. Just a nice memory of feather-light days.
I can tell you: After my purchase at the perfume shop, I felt good again!
