I Vicoli Via Fiori Chiari Trussardi 2020

Earthy but intoxicating,

I Vicoli Via Fiori Chiari was love at first sight. Of course, cardamom is my weakness, a warm door to the soul. But Trussardi has managed to create a milky, enchanting aura around this spice.

Of course, the sweetness of vanilla and calmingness of marigold is always a good choice if you want to please. But boozyness adds a more masculine face, black pepper cuts into the heart of the fragrance with a sharp knife and patchouli keeps it down to earth.

Sillage - excellent, becoming sweeter and more sensual over time. And it´s original, nothing like Black Orchid to my nose. Feels way more organic and natural than Tom Ford.

Whereas my love for this extraordinary fragrance composition is ready to overshadow my dislike for the brand and the rather hideous bottle. In the fashion world, Trussardi is rather a tacky symbol of tastelessness.

But yes, this scent is enchanting ... Dearest if you are reading this here, please give me I Vicoli Via Fiori Chiari for my birthday!

I Vicoli Vía Fiori Chiari is a high quality scent that offers a modern take on retro aristocratic spicy cologne style. Starts herbal, ginger and very lemony and gets warmer, sweeter and boozier as it dries. It is nice but I think it doesn't fit me.

Most women will find It leaning masculine. I get why it might remind some of Lutens' Chene, which I prefer, through Chene is drier, leathery and its spices add an oriental side which this one lacks of.

This is one of the perfumes of the well known Le vie di Milano by Trussardi line. This perfume is an amazing unisex with a sweet, balsamic, fresh scent that reminds of spearmint chewing gums to overly simplify it. As all of the line, it has good performance. Based on the promo text by Trussardi and the reviews on other sites, I expected this to be a cozy mulled wine scent. Unfortunately that's not what I get.
Instead this smells very herbal to me, and I can also sense traces of Black Orchid DNA in it.

When I look at the listed notes, they're all perceptible. I just envisioned them to be done in a different way.
The spices are very dry, the liqueur more transparent then expected. The lemon feels like a drop of lemon juice diluted in it, so it's not zesty or sparkling. There is way less vanilla than I hoped for.
Patchouli shows its green side, but also some earthy and borderline musty facets, and the latter are amplified by the funky smell of tagetes. I find this flower very difficult in general, and I underestimated its impact on this fragrance because it's not listed on Trussardi's official website, and maybe because I was blinded by the idea of a christmassy mulled wine scent. It's definitely noticeable here, and unfortunately, it makes the scent feel stuffy to me.

After the drydown the scent turns warmer and better. A bit of vanilla becomes noticeable, which is nice with the black pepper and liqueur, and the herbal notes soften a little. But all in all, it's still nothing I would want to smell like.

I LOVE most of the other Trussardi La Vie de Milano fragrances I tried, so I guess it was only a matter of time until I came upon one that doesn't fit my tastes.

Today I went to the perfume store with the desire to get a new fragrance. I actually wanted something seductive because I have a meeting with an interesting person tomorrow...
I first tested some perfumes that were on my list and then started a conversation with a saleswoman.
To my seductive wishes, she introduced me to scents that I didn’t like. I then mentioned that I might be looking for something a bit more unusual, at which point she introduced me to Trussardi.
I don’t have much experience with perfumes, but I found the scent very special; it reminded me of walks in the woods, of cut wood at the edge of the forest that had been lightly rained on.
However, I wasn’t sure if the scent convinced me. I took a test strip with me and walked around the city for an hour, running errands. In between, I kept smelling the test strip; I also had a second test strip with a different scent from Trussardi.
I don’t know what it was, but the scent wouldn’t leave my mind, even though I thought it wouldn’t suit me...
I was so confused that I even invited passersby to sniff the test strip ;).
Everyone preferred the sweeter scent and rejected mine.
But somehow... It wouldn’t let me go.
So back to the perfume store, I wanted to test it on my skin.
It smelled strong there too, intense, somehow earthy, woody...
However, also a bit sweaty (probably because of the lemon?)
But maybe I just imagined that?
In any case, I wanted to wear it on my skin for a while and said goodbye, planning to come back another day.
Outside, I then realized that I had left my purchases in the store.
I took that as a sign that I should buy the scent.
Which I then did.
I have not regretted it!
It still holds up great on the skin after almost ten hours.
However, it’s not as overpowering anymore; the sweaty note is no longer detectable, and I like it even more after wearing it for a longer time than shortly after applying.
After wearing it for a while, it becomes very, very sensual -
a scent that transforms!
I am thrilled and do not regret the purchase, and I am curious to see how it continues to develop in my daily life over the next few days.
Although I probably won’t wear it tomorrow on the date - I will first test it at work.
