Cuddly today?

The latest creation from Trussardi actually spoke directly to me once again, after which most of the previous fragrances could not convince me.

Of course, Riflesso does not reinvent the wheel, but it is a very pleasant fragrance, especially among women.

It starts off slightly fresh with bergamot overtones, then quickly turns into a sweet floral chord that covers the masculine leather.
From start to finish, the combination of the sensual flower bouquet with the masculine leather base remains intact, giving the fragrance a warm aura and strong appeal.

I would describe Riflesso as a feel-good cuddly fragrance, because it creates a relaxed, fragrant atmosphere.
There you can also overlook the mediocre Sillage and durability.

Overall, Riflesso is a pleasant all-rounder, which can be worn in the office as well as on evening occasions by younger and more mature men.

Riflesso convinced me and was allowed to move into my collection

The Daytime Version of YSL La Nuit de l'Homme

Trussardi Riflesso smells incredible, I was snubbing it the last couple of years, but I was shocked when I tried it in a Trussardi store. So astonishing. Further, the Accademia del Profumo awarded Trussardi Riflesso the best perfume made in Italy prize. I am not clear why it got such a low rate. To me, it's a real revelation and marks an entirely new direction for the brand. I immediately ordered this fragrance online. I would describe it as a leathery version of Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme.

Trussardi Riflesso is an oriental scent all too woody, earthy, and leathery that greats me with a sweetish tobacco accord, quite bizarre since tobacco note is not listed in any of its forms, neither leaves nor flowers. Maybe, the smoky leather creates such a tobacco-like accord. This scent is very unusual and for individual tastes outstanding. If you like sweet and powerful perfumes, this will undoubtedly be of interest. It has a warm, soft sweetness which comes from the tonka bean interacting with the violet leaves and geranium, unlike many modern sweet fragrances for men which rely on fruit or caramel, vanilla, cocoa, dried fruits, and so forth to achieve this. The juice is truly addictive! Zesty notes of bergamot and pink grapefruit, mixed with fruity and tart green apple give the impression of something fresh and invigorating.

The heart is earthier and more grounded with its notes of nostalgic lavender and green violet leaves. It takes a romantic, floral approach, the aroma of geranium and violet detectable behind the relaxing scent of lavender.

To finish, the scent of leather that was lingering in the background all the time comes in loud and robust, accented by woody notes of vetiver and tonka bean, which give the fragrance an addictive sensuality. Leather is a nod to the Trussardi tradition of glove making, and here in Reflesso is spot on! The leather accord is what keeps Riflesso and La Nuit de l'Homme apart.

In summary, an unusually sophisticated fragrance that is sweet, cozy, creamy, flowery, very Italian, attractive, and long-lasting. I am impressed by Riflesso. It’s a fragrance that looks set to capture a younger, more contemporary audience yet, at the same time upholding the Trussardi tradition and heritage. Best suited for colder seasons like fall and winter day time, but makes a perfect choice for romantic evening wear as well or nights out on the town. The longevity is pretty good. However, the sillage dies down after one hour or so. I love the fragrance; it's vigorous, versatile, but tasteful at the same time, mildly dry, almost cold, absolutely not smooth, lightly fruity, and quite bitter, mature, and pleasantly reassuring.

Just Gorgeous!

I get the La Nuit de L'Homme and YSL L'Homme reference that some reviewers before me have mentioned, but I also get hints, at least towards the mid, perhaps even the dry down, of Trussardi's own powerhouse creation of past (1983), Trussardi Uomo. That said, this is an absolute marvellous creation that manages to stand on its own merit.

I've been testing it for the past couple of days and I can confirm that it works well in extreme heat/humid conditions but it shines in climate controlled environments. I therefore think, this is going to be quite a versatile fragrance.

Make no mistake, this is a man's fragrance that exudes class and sophistication. The longevity and silage are remarkable and for the price, its a steal.

Love it to bits ... 8.5/10 in my book

Pure Italian Seduction

One of the best releases of the Italian "designer" perfumery in several years.

Yes, maybe inspired by two well-known YSL fragrances, but maybe it improves both. As clear as it sounds...

This one has its own vibe and "that" Italian style, sure. Also, It's masterly blended and the performance is good.

Sophisticated, seductive, elegant... Trussardi Riflesso is a winning hand.

... For a modern gentleman.

This reflection is actually a very nice all-round composition from Veronique Nyberg...

First off, Riflesso is not something that has not been seen before - slightly fruity, slightly dry, slightly powdery and leaning to the mature side, it comes off as a suede-like composition for fans of La Nuit de l'Homme with added leather. The scent has a very appealing mix of apple, bergamot, lavender, musk and vetiver mixed up with some florals and a good dose of spices and while neither cardamom or tobacco oddly enough are listed, the base mostly consists of woods and tonka.
Suitable for most occations and seasons, but I think it will shine in springtime and will be useful both for day and nighttime wear. Longevity unfortunately is not very impressive, I get about 4 hours before reapplication is necessary and projection is moderate.

To sum it up : a very good and versatile fragrance that could use a little more oomph - an intense version with better performance could be interesting, but I'm also aware that this might of course ruin the overall impression.

Overall, if you can look past the not so impressive bottle, this is a solid release from Trussardi.
