California? I've always wanted to go there!
Hello friends,
when I saw that the last comment on the California Rêverie was more than 3 years ago, I thought it was time to pay tribute to this fragrance and to appreciate it. Because it deserves this mMn very much.
[...]
I came across the Van Cleef&Arpels house about 2 months ago and had never heard or read anything about them until then. I was surfing the internet at the time and was looking for a certain scent on brasty. At some point I saw the Neroli Amara from the 'Collection Extraordinaire' and stopped at his place. "Van Cleef & Arpels"? Hmm, don't tell me anything! Sounds very interesting...", I was curious. So I googled the house and made myself a little clever
Founded in 1906 as a jewellery manufacturer and over time built up an excellent reputation worldwide as an excellent jewellery and watch manufacturer, at some point fragrances were also created. And what kind of scents...
[...]
After testing the aforementioned Neroli Amara and liking it a lot, I started to lick blood and search for other fragrances from the 'Collection Extraordinaire' series. I quickly found what I was looking for and came across the California Rêverie.
"California has always fascinated you and is the destination par excellence. If it smells as good as the region captivates you, then you must go there," I dreamed and hoped so much that my "dream" would not burst
So I bought 3 bottlings here in the souk (California Rêverie, Moonlight Patchouli and Bois d'Iris) and a few days after the order they arrived undamaged. Of course I tested CR (no, not Cristiano Ronaldo ;) ) first of all...
"Wow, what an enchanting and dreamlike opening!", I was struck by the top note right at the beginning. I closed my eyes, smiled all over my face and just enjoyed the moment...
Before my eyes the breathtaking Golden Gate Bridge, the unique Yosemite National Park, the mysterious prison on Alcatraz Island, the nostalgic 'Cable Cars', the electrifying Disneyland...
Yeah, I didn't want to wake up from that "dream"...
[...]
I used up the bottling within a week (by the way, just by the way: the other two also agreed with me and convinced me!) In the meantime, I am so enthusiastic about this fragrance that it will definitely become part of my collection soon.
Right at the beginning it is fresh green-tart with a citric touch I would say; the combination of neroli and tangerine harmonizes mMn very well with each other and provides this feel-good factor that you have immediately.
Up to the base he also keeps this direction - among others through jasmine and frangipani. There, the vanilla adds a pleasant sweetness to it, which makes it floral-fresh-sweet, I think.
Even though he doesn't have too much endurance - on my skin I perceive him max. 5h - and the Sillage has no "monster power" (max. 2h), I find him so fascinating that he simply has to expand my collection.
Conclusion:
The California Rêverie is absolutely suitable for warmer days, i.e. best for spring and summer. You can use it as an everyday scent as well as on a nice warm summer evening during a walk or in a chic restaurant during dinner
One day I will travel to California and explore the region. And one hundred percent this fragrance will be my companion. Because when he enters my collection, he will never leave me
Delicate, fresh, sweet, gentle, radiant, heavenly...
That's how he is in my eyes. And that's how I imagine California to be...
[...]
Thanks to all who read along my enthusiasm!
