Spicy, Piney, Green, Amber, Wood.
For us children of the 80s and 90s, this is a hall-of-famer. Released in the same year as ADG, A*Men, The Dreamer, CK Be and Chrome, it was a staple of the high school crowd. Case in point - it brings back memories and has stood the test of time. People still love it and remember the scent just as much as Curve, Tommy and even the original D&G Pour Homme.
It opens rather harsh with a mix of ginger, citrus, synthetic florals and a piney wood. There's a slight herbal quality that probably comes from the rosemary, but it's not prominent (to me). The harshness dissipates rather quickly and the effect is to bring out the amber which makes is resinous and reminiscent of pine sap. That's the overall feel - moss on the forest floor next to a cedar grove. But it doesn't end there. There is a distinct sweetness in the drydown that rounds out the piney notes rather nicely and projects an air of masculinity, especially on darker skin. As the body heats up, the sillage is heavy with a sweet pine and musk, making this an attractive and rather simple composition that still garners compliments.
Longevity is not what it used to be, but still decent for the price. Luckily, you can spray this one on your clothing and it doesn't remain for weeks like some other frags. Projection is heavy for the first 30 min due to those synthetic notes, but dies rather quickly. Best thing to do is to spray liberally and give yourself about 10 minutes before surrounding yourself with others. That, or carry a travel atomizer. Both work, and effectively allow some of us older folk to feel young again. A very good inexpensive buy, especially if you enjoy time travel.
