Quite Peppery
Wow.
This Viennese has pepper in its blood!
The opening really lifts the nose up quite a bit.
Once you get past the initial shock, the initially omnipresent pepper makes some room for the Viennese forest, which gradually pushes itself to the forefront, presenting itself in a cosmopolitan, light-filled manner. The herbal notes, consistently spiced with pepper, fade away after a solid 5-6 hours close to the skin.

I find it hard to establish a connection between the name and the scent - as a quasi-foreigner from a non-Alpine region, the term "Panasch" alone drove me to the all-knowing internet:
[paˈnaʃ]
[1] often used military helmet ornament
[2] Switzerland: beer mixed drink made from beer and lemonade
The first might make twisted sense, as the pepper in the Viennese forest indeed makes for a rather militant debut.

With this very pepper fanfare, Panasch stands quite on its own as a fragrance - at least in my (admittedly still quite short) perfume career, I have yet to smell anything even remotely comparable.

Is this the true Vienna Woods?
That is wonderfully colorful in autumn and has a herb-wonderful scent? It could be! Because this amazing fragrance is neither Mediterranean nor oriental. Not floral or fern-like either. It is hard to categorize, but the tendency strongly leans towards "Central European mixed forest with clearings and meadows." The fresh bitterness that Panasch radiates right from the start is reminiscent of a slightly foggy morning in early November, not too cold, very close.
What follows is wonderfully full, green, earthy, woody, herbal, and close to nature. Yes, LANDSCAPED, a term that suggests there is a lot contained within that evokes different images. Perhaps there is a small river with herbs growing along its banks. Or a meadow with a small cluster of trees in the middle. Or a dense forest where everything that has trunk, crown, needles, or leaves grows. Along with the underbrush and ferns. Maybe even an urban park in a landscaped style, with a pond and "artificial" stream.
The composition of the scent has something very artistic about it, realism with a touch of romance and authentic "coloration." It also addresses the "soft tones," like violets among ivy under trees. And the subtle rustling of dry leaves in a light breeze or the scent before impending rain...
I would probably find much more to describe, as the fragrance has depths behind its apparent clarity that I would not have suspected before.
A masterpiece of fragrance at its finest!

A somewhat unique and quirky composition of woody-spicy, resinous-earthy, and herbal-green notes, subtle booze, and tonka.

Top note of forest and meadow scent
Then the absinthe woody notes come through more and more.
A bit of earth and fine leathery notes
Very well done *

Oh you beautiful western - ... uh, Vienna Woods!
The photosynthesis is peppery, making the green fairy rustle in the wormwood.
Quite dull, dear lady!

There was still your aftershave
I had absinthe-colored dreams
We lay in vetiver
Outside in the woods...
You held me in your arms...

It's unique, but a bit too subtle for me. Greenish, slightly bitter, earthy patch. On me, it feels pleasantly morbid.

Here it smells very fragrant. Fresh-green, lightly sweetened. Bitter piney green, aftershave, and a sip of absinthe. Cheers!

Pepper cascades over sweet-balsamic notes, the typical absinthe accent adds a touch of tipsiness. An original scent that's absolutely wearable.
