So Elixir EDT
This is very nice! I mostly smell the patchouli, jasmine and rose. I've tested the EDP version and I like the EDT version better. It's lighter and more subtle. I find the staying power great. I can still smell it on my skin at the end of the day. I can smell similarities to Miss Dior 2012 but this isn't as strong or as sweet. I think I actually like this better, sorry Dior! It doesn't smell cheap at all and is quite modern. I'm impressed! You could easily wear this everyday for every occasion. A very versatile fragrance. The bottle itself is simple, understated and attractive with the frosted glass. I bought my bottle at a fifty percent discount from the Yves Rocher catalogue and at that price, this can't be beat!

A Fragrance for Women
So Elixir Eau de Toilette I bought in 2010 as a Christmas gift for my daughter.
She had just entered her teenage years, started to take an interest in fragrances, and during our Christmas shopping spree, I ended up in the Yves Rocher shop among others.
Somehow, this fragrance caught my eye, I tested it briefly, found it lovely, and took it home.
My little one was very happy with her first real "women's perfume" and she liked it too.
Now she no longer wears it and has found her style, preferring lighter fragrances, especially with lilac.
Today only the Eau de Parfum is available, and when the EdT was on sale at Yves Rocher, I bought a bottle out of sentimentality. Fragrances are indeed valuable memories.

It is still the old version with the bottle featuring a milky color gradient and the box adorned with a large white flower on a beige background. The old EdP had a slightly golden-yellow tint and also a white flower on the box, but on a dark brown background.

When I opened it and sprayed it on myself, I first thought: Why didn't I buy this for myself earlier? It's beautiful and feminine - for women, whether young or not so young anymore.
So Elixir has a sweet-floral and powdery scent character. Sweet, but still bearable, and a touch of mature elegance always resonates. So despite its floral sweetness, it is not a cloyingly sweet teenage scent that gives you an instant headache.

It starts with bergamot and a lot of pink pepper. The sweetness kicks in immediately, and the fragrance becomes more floral. Jasmine dominates over the roses, which I don't perceive as strongly here. Over time, the scent becomes slightly powdery, but only minimally. In the base, which is still sweet, patchouli and warm tonka bean emerge.
Overall, it is a bright, warm, friendly, floral, and slightly powdery sweet fragrance that I find very successful. It also bears a certain resemblance to Coco Mademoiselle, which could very well have served as a model.

The bottle is pear-shaped, clear at the top, and has a milky gradient towards the bottom. The longevity is good; I can't complain.
I also have the EdP, but I haven't worn it much yet to analyze the differences precisely. However, I believe it is hardly powdery, but rather "resinous".
In any case, both are beautiful fragrances, and perhaps I will follow up with a comment about the EdP.

So Elixir - the Fourth
So Elixir seems to be very much liked by YR:
So Elixir EdP
So Elixir EdT
So Elixir Bois Sensuel
So Elixir Purple
And time and again, there are various special editions in different bottles. Let's see which So Elixir follows next. Is it just me or is it quite present next to Evidence?

Patchouli and I... The old story... I don't like it, it's too sweet for me, it's too heavy, sometimes it smells musty, it reminds me of that typical negatively connoted stereotype of an old lady's scent that people sometimes talk about, and to top it all off, I usually get a headache from that stuff...
Strangely enough, that doesn't happen with Yves. Well, the headaches. And So Elixir comes across as floral. It's heavy and definitely a winter candidate for me, but still very wearable. Now I can't really notice a big difference between the EdT and the EdP, as both develop quite similarly on me. The EdT is a bit lighter, but not noticeably so, that I could say it’s so fresh and light that I only wear it in summer. That will never happen with So Elixir, as I find it simply dreadful on me in summer.

Like the other So Elixirs, this one is good for me, but I don't want to have it permanently. And when my surroundings start sneezing from it and get a kind of hay fever, I prefer to skip it. So anyone with hay fever might have problems with it. Therefore, my advice is to test it in the store first.

The longevity is good. Although it’s just an EdT, it lasts very long due to the intense fragrance notes and is still noticeable on clothing the next day. The bottle fits well into the So Elixir line.

My bottle can go to a good friend who associates it with Eve, so the fragrance twin indicated here seems to be correct. I like the EdT the least of all the versions so far. I still prefer Purple, although they all actually only differ slightly on me. Thanks also to Frau Maus for the tester, as I didn't want to open my 50ml bottle to test the scent :-)

"The forest is my church, incense is its scent..." (Wolfgang Papke)

Strangely, on my skin the scent develops quite differently than it does on my predecessors. Probably another reason why fragrances often develop differently on young skin than on more mature skin.

At first, So Elixir smells somewhat "medicinal" to me, not sweet at all! I thought, wow, this is not for you.
But since I didn't wash the scent off, it had a reprieve and could develop. Luckily!
The scent is rather bitter, citrusy, and woody on me, has something balsamic and something "crunchy". Sweetness doesn't come through for me at all, not even after hours. It doesn't become really floral either. But the cedar dances a round of patchouli ;)
And the cedar must have been the reason for the initial "medicinal" impression. It reminded me - but only for a moment! - of Vicks VapoRub. Hence the balsamic note later on.
The scent is also not directly warm for me, but rather like a forest floor in autumn, where sometimes a sunbeam breaks through the leaves of the trees - or through the cedars - onto the thick layer of twigs.

The way the scent smells on me, it could easily be worn by a man!

Now I'm still lying here on the forest floor and could associate forever, but to quote Kafka:

In the forests are things,
to think about,
one could lie in the moss for years.

Until then! ;-)

Tingly-citrusy-elegant-pleasing!
Salmon silk/pink-bright-shining
close to Coco M.
Too much "Stepford wife" for me
Still beautiful...

Fresh and unobtrusive, elegant & suitable for all year round. Hardly sweet - I find it more pleasant than the rather sweet EdP. The new version is softer.

Very delicious scent. Fresh, zesty sweet, slightly gourmand with tonka, and that wonderful incense adds a special touch.

So Elixir for the whole year. Much airier, fresher than the EdP, yet still has a sensual-spicy base. I love it!

A bit lighter than the EdT, you can tell it's a So Elixir.
