BR540 for Men
The title basically says it all.

It's more pungent and less musky than the original, making it more unisex towards masculine smelling to my nose, it's like they tried to go for a twist on BR450 targeted towards men, it is still VERY sweet but not in a candy cotton fluffy type of sweetness that could appeal female wearers, this has a strange...almost rubbery undertone to it, which makes it 100 times better than the original IMHO.

Performance is really good, I go noseblind to it almost immediately but it lasts 7-8 hours on my skin, I put the fragrance in my backpack when I bought it and it leaked a TINY bit (so that's a thumbs down for QC, even though I really really like the bottle except for the cap), well, my backpack still smells a bit of the fragrance after a week.

It's a solid buy, try and grab it before it gets discontinued or weakened as Zara usually does with newer batches or new releases.

Straight 9/10.

Sexy, rich & modern!
It has long been known that Zara has a knack for extremely pleasing fragrances.
No matter which Zara scent you test, there isn’t one that is completely off-putting.
The entire fragrance collections of recent years target the confident, modern man who simply wants to smell good without making a science out of it.
Parfumo niche virtuosos will most likely have issues with the mass-produced fragrances and probably won't know what to do with them.
But to each their own.

And this brings me directly to the topic of quality.
Anyone who knows a bit about fragrances won’t expect high-end quality for 20-30€ in a fashion boutique aimed at the average earner.
One should also not expect beast mode in terms of sillage and longevity considering the price.

That it can be done differently is proven by Zara this year with the Red Edition Intense.
I must give a big compliment here, as the scent is not only very pleasing and close to BR 540, but it finally has decent performance!

The low longevity has always held me back from taking one or another fragrance with me.
But here I can still perceive the scent after 8 hours!
For Zara, that’s probably record-breaking!

I would wish that Zara increases the perfume concentration in their scents in the future, so that all fragrances last longer than a stay in a Zara store!
I would gladly pay a bit more for that.
Because one thing you really have to give Zara - they can definitely create good fragrances!

Surprisingly a compliment getter!
A rainy afternoon led me to a nearby department store. Once there, I hit all the perfume shops.
I left Zara, a fashion store, out of the equation. By chance, thanks to a friend and his girlfriend, we eventually ended up there.
Upon arrival, the perfume section caught my eye. So, I rushed in and sniffed through the Zara fragrance world.
Fascinated and indeed surprised by some scents, one stood out in particular: the For Him Red Edition Intense.

The fragrance exudes a fresh, energetic, and also sweet wave that I would love to surf on. The interplay of the individual scent notes is, for me, perfectly balanced.
And even in everyday wear, whether at work or in a normal environment, the scent shows what it can do! I've never received so many compliments and inquiries about what fragrance this is.
Sure, I don't have the broad spectrum like some others here on Parfumo. And there are certainly other perfumes where you get such feedback more often.
But I think, for this price, this fragrance is simply a must for anyone who likes to receive compliments. In terms of price/performance, it's just fantastic. It has become indispensable in my collection.

It easily lasts eight hours and carries you perfectly through a workday. Always present but not too intrusive, and very pleasant in the nose. An overall beautiful, rounded, and for me, timeless scent that fits perfectly for the modern man.

The bottle is the only small downside. It really is nothing special, and the cap doesn't have a magnetic closure. The sprayer is "OK". But somewhere you have to overlook something for the price.

Conclusion: Top daily fragrance, great price, great longevity. What more could a "man" want? ;)

Zara 2024 is back with a bang
Sprayed it for the first time in the store,
didn't notice much.

After 20 minutes, I kept getting this extremely delicious scent in my nose.
It was coming from my wrist.
Sweet and somehow rich.

Perfect for spring, autumn, and winter. I also think it's great for clubbing and date nights.

I've never smelled BR 540.
So I can't make any comparisons.

The longevity was really impressive.

I then got the fragrance and feel like it's less intense.
Maybe it's due to the batch.
A little addendum,
I was asked yesterday if I was wearing Tiziana Terenzi - Kirkè and twice if it was BR540,
so the similarity seems to be there.
So far, a compliment beast.

Partycrasher
Today was a beautiful spring day, with pleasantly warm temperatures and sunshine. A good opportunity to head into the city and continue my Zara journey. This time, it was Red Intense. The scent, applied from the tester both on paper and on skin, can then be enjoyed in peace during the walk back home. So much for the theory.
I'm sorry to have to ruin the mood here, but after the absolutely positive surprise that Sand Desert at Sunset Intense represented for me, Zara immediately delivers the next disappointment. One step at a time.

Red Intense copies Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, a fragrance that, due to its overwhelming sweetness and general DNA, tends to divide opinions and yet (or perhaps because of that?) is known to pretty much everyone. Probably one reason why there are so many clones or twists of it. It's not one of my favorites, but I'm not averse to it either. Red Intense immediately shows how not to do the opening, because in the first two to three minutes, there is a piercing alcohol note reminiscent of the qualitatively poor dupes from about 10 years ago. Of course, that fades quickly, but my first thought was "I thought we left that behind." Anyway, let's see how it develops. And indeed, there it is, the well-known BR540 DNA: cotton candy sweetness, dentist-synthetic, so far so good (or bad, depending on your perspective). Unfortunately, Zara has come up with the idea that the fragrance should be more masculine than the original. This was attempted by adding a huge portion of musk that is not listed in the pyramid, but which I immediately recognize: it’s the same (or at least very similar) synthetic musk that has already spoiled "Ana Abiyedh / آنا أبيض (Eau de Parfum) | Lattafa / لطافة" for me. This is even more dominant for me in the first hours than the BR540 component, which, although consistently perceptible, is not the main actor. After a few hours, the musk calms down a bit but remains present. Oh, citrus components are also listed. One word: irrelevant. Top and base notes do not exist, just BR and musk, that's it. The focus only shifts slightly over time.

I find it difficult to make a final statement about the performance, as I have only been wearing it for a few hours and have tried to wash it off my wrist (which hardly works), so I am orienting myself based on previous reviews and say: above average fits, both generally and specifically regarding Zara. The name addition "Intense" seems to hold up.

In conclusion, differing from the surprisingly many enthusiasts here: it is nothing at all. I just can't deal with this in-your-face musk. Even if it calms down a bit and the amber becomes more present, it is too over-seasoned for me to be pleasing. Synthetics are part of the BR540 DNA, but here they are already very strongly perceptible. My girlfriend's comment, who was standing next to me when I sprayed it, was a simple yet telling "Urgh." I give a strong blind-buy warning; one should definitely sniff it before purchasing. As an alternative, albeit a bit more feminine, "Ana Abiyedh Rouge | Lattafa / لطافة" remains in my collection: stronger BR sweetness plus pear, less and especially not piercing musk, and (in my batch) strong performance. There are certainly enough alternatives, so one does not have to rely on Red Intense if it only half or not at all convinces. And now I’m heading straight back to the bathroom to keep scrubbing my wrist.

Something is wrong for me in this one, like some synthetic kind of thing. Very surprised, bc i was a fan of the original.

Has the same DNA as original. Amber + citrus comes across less sweet & caramelised. Projects well, sillage above average. Good flanker.

Almost same DNA with BR540. 24h on my skin with an above average projection. Affordable beast!

Boozy like rum, burnt like sugarcane, with a hint of a rubber tyre, and then turning into very salty and sweet amber.

Extremely similar to MFK, with a more potent amber note. Quickly turned into my most complimented fragrance!

Straight path without curves and elevation. No surprises. A journey into a fragrant vacation of light sweetness and warmth. Evening sun galore.

a good alternative, even though I hated BR. I'm slowly starting to like the DNA, layered with SE it was my favorite!

Here comes a warm, sweet scent that later becomes quite spicy. Excellent sillage and longevity.

I happened to smell the fragrance and was strongly surprised by the H/S. After hours, still a very intense BR540 vibe. Great for the price!
