Pink against the little storm
Today is not my day. I couldn't sleep last night because of the annoying rattling of the storm, and today is no better... As soon as you leave the house, the leaves fly around your ears and it starts pouring.
When I look outside, I just wish for spring to arrive as quickly as possible... Temperatures above 15 degrees, a slightly warmer breeze, and no more of this disgusting weather... Well, that will take a while; first, we still have the carnival season to get through ;)
One positive thing about the weather, though: My sweet winter fragrances don’t have to spend their existence in the closet and can snuggle up to me comfortably in the cold. Just like Pink Flambé!
I must admit that I hadn’t been interested in Zara fragrances until recently. My suspicion was: cheap drugstore level and more suitable for teenagers. But I was proven wrong.
Pink Flambé was a blind buy because a friend raved about it. I then read the scent notes here and thought it must be quite sweet. Anyway, during my next shopping trip, I grabbed it.
Yes, it is sweet! But by no means cheap. My friend mentioned back then that it resembles CH Good Girl. I had written a review here about GG and must admit that I don’t really remember how it smells anymore, haha. For me, there may be some similarity, but it is definitely not a scent twin. I would have noticed that, and then I probably wouldn’t wear it ;)
Fruity-gourmand fits very well here. I can only detect pear very subtly. I’m glad about that because pear has already ruined JPC's La Belle for me. I just don’t like pear. Always too much for me.
The lychee covers or mixes quite well with the pear. It starts pleasantly fruity. Sweet, yes. But not like Escada Fruit Cocktail.
The gourmand notes prevent the scent from becoming too sweet; it has more of a fine cocoa mousse topped with some juicy fruits rather than a sweet Milka praline with canned fruit.
Pink Flambé is best suited for autumn/winter and for going out. I’ve received many compliments for it :)
I grabbed a 100 ml bottle back then because the others were already gone. So, you definitely don’t need that much of this fragrance. Two sprays and you are surrounded by a pleasant scent aura without bothering others ;) The longevity is also very good for a fragrance in this category. Even after 8 hours, I and others can still perceive it.
Despite that, I probably won’t repurchase it; I still have to use up the 100 ml, and by then, my feelings will probably have changed again :) or I’ll be tired of it :P
