What's inside is not always what it says on the tin
Hmh, should we ask Zara if they have bottled the wrong perfume? We all know by now that Zara's naming is misleading, but in this case the fragrance doesn't match the description on the packaging at all. It totally sounds like my cup of tea, I love vanilla and especially in combination with amber, almond and tonka. I was sure that I would love the perfume. But unfortunately I can't smell almond or amber. Maybe a little tonka and the vanilla is also very subtle in the background. Instead, I smell a loooooot of floral (can't even say it's lavender - luckily!!) with a soapy scent. Fortunately, this gets a little better in the dry down, but the main component of the fragrance unfortunately remains floral soap. Phew, that's somehow not my cup of tea and definitely something completely different from what I expected...
Maybe the fragrance is suitable for layering, I'll test my assortment.

Can vanilla be this sexy?
And once again, Zara has managed to bring a successful masterpiece to the market.
If you love vanilla and like to combine it with other shades, then Starlight Vanilla is 100% the right choice.
I was blown away the first time I sprayed it on at Zara. I then gave the fragrance some more time and was finally able to add it to my fragrance collection recently. Since then, I've been asking myself every day why I waited so long to buy it.
But what does the vanilla in Starlight Vanilla smell like?
You definitely don't get too sweet/gourmand vanilla here, but rather a really mystical, passionate vanilla. It has something wicked and smoky about it, which makes this combination very exciting and appealing to me. I also look in vain for the almond note here, but the lavender adds a very exciting component and makes the fragrance very feminine despite its slightly tart note.
On Parfumo and social media, Starlight Vanilla is often associated with Myrrh & Tonka. I can't subscribe to this 100%, but the fragrance DNA goes something like this. Personally, for me it has more of the Absolute Aphrodisiac with a minimal touch of Alien Eau de Parfum.

H/S has also been more than surpassed here. Zara fragrances already have very good longevity for the price, but I notice that Starlight Vanilla lasts around 8 hours on my skin and even longer on my hair. So in my opinion, this perfume can really keep up with one or the other niche fragrance. But I would like to emphasize it again: FOR THE PRICE?, simply absolute master class and definitely a fragrance for him and her. If I had to choose, the fragrance would be more for the evening because of its sexiness, but I think you can also feel sexy during the day.
With the Starlight Vanilla you can definitely do that!

Beautiful vanilla fragrance
To me, this is somehow a feminine, grown-up vanilla that you could meet in a hotel lobby or that is fresh, neat and clean.
Definitely my favorite from the Zara vanilla fragrance range.
Unfortunately, the name irritates me a bit because Starlight? More irritating than fitting.
The fragrance actually lasts quite well on my skin, which is not always the case with other Zara perfumes and I smelled it again and again throughout the day, in case you know that you keep sniffing and thinking oh that smells good... that's exactly what it was.

Rich & feminine
I can only offer the men's perspective. I haven't worn it myself and am giving it away in an advent calendar for my wife.

The fragrance:
strangely enough, Starlight Vanilla reminds me a lot of my grandma. I can't remember what she wore, but so be it. It starts off thick, rich and very grown-up, without me being able to say what exactly the fragrance is made of. When I get close to the test strip, I can smell the almond milk. It's sweet, creamy and has that almond quality that's slightly creamy-nutty-gourmand. A great thing. Almond milk, vanilla and tonka meld here; the aromatic quality is clear, and again, being lavender-slathered (maybe that reminds me of my grandma?!) - I can't quite recognize lavender in perfumes though, unfortunately. The vanilla-almond tonka is joined by musk, it thickens in the process and is well blended. There is no star in this show, but vanilla, as the name suggests, has a hand in everything.
The previous speakers have referred to the soapiness, which I also perceive and which gives the fragrance a certain vintage touch (possibly the grandma association?).

Similarity:
It is somewhat reminiscent of Hypnotic Poison (2014) Eau de Parfum and Hypnotic Poison Eau de Toilette, although Hypnotic Vanilla is actually intended for this in the same Zaraline. i don't know Myrrh & Tonka but it certainly fits better.

The sillage:
Very dense and easily perceptible, it certainly projects well too.

The longevity:
It seems like a fragrance that stays with you for a long time without you having to reapply it frequently. i can well imagine 4-6 hours.

The occasion/context:
Starlight Vanilla is sweet and warm enough to wear outdoors in fall and winter. Indoors, I'd wear it a little more modestly, but it's not distracting.

Age:
Unfortunately, it's more of a late twenties to early thirties fragrance; I don't see it as really safe until you're over 40 (I'm sorry.) But it's not really a fragrance for a young, dynamic woman (not for students and young professionals). For me, it ranks alongside Dior Poison and Black Opium Eau de Parfum. If you find these two appealing, please go for it!

For the men:
He is present. He doesn't take my pants off, but he is sweet and creamy, and a dominant woman who knows what she wants can use it to emphasize these characteristics. I personally wouldn't recommend it for young women and girls.

Flacon:
Wine red-purple and gold - great design. I like it very much. Zara has done a really good job with Starlight Vanilla, Vanilla Vibration and Supreme Vanilla.

Blindbuy:
Not for girls and young women, but if you like it classy, dense and rich, this is a good winter fragrance.

Conclusion:
It smells classier and more expensive than it is, and it does its job! For those who like it lighter and are a little younger or prefer a more professional fragrance, we recommend Vanilla Vibration (see my last review).

Well more hoped
Have promised me a lot because of vanilla. I personally feel the smell after a few minutes rather masculine and little to no vanilla. A little soapy, reminds me in summary of a male smelling soap. Am disappointed. Had really bumms with vanilla expected. I also have to go very close to the place on the arm to smell it exactly. So no significant sillage with me.

Herbaceous lavender, sweet smokiness (tonka + myrrh?) & whipped vanilla =delicate Myrrh&Tonka dupe. Like! Maturation necessary.

My first impression was of Azzaro pour Homme, fougère, a full-bodied, aromatic scent with notes of ancient spices. Second fav out of four!
