Olfactory tape vs. Skin vs. Weather (triple threat)
This scent changes a lot from skin to skin. On my skin, it reminds me of orange pomace, as if you were squeezing an orange into a glass of pomace.

I've seen reports that it's extremely citrusy in some people and not in others. Even when I tested it on the olfactory tape, I liked it but I didn't love it. When I sprayed it on my skin, I loved it. The ribbon print was a little different than the skin print.

It is very complicated on the skin, as some have drier skin, others more oily. The weather will also always be a conditioning factor. Some live in a more humid place, others in a drier place.

My conclusion is that you test yourself first before going out shopping without knowing it, because your perception can change from the olfactory tape to the skin as mine did.

It does have a citrusy side, but it's not like DHC. Here the predominance of orange makes it different, not as harsh as lemon but sweeter than orange (with the tonka bean this sweet touch is even more noticeable).

Thinking about the different flankers that Vibrant Leather has already launched, this one brings a good proposal for the summer. Especially for very hot days, something that can even reinforce the performance (it's average).

Not worth it
In my opinion it has none of the Vibrant Leather DNA. Opens up with a strong bergamot citrus note, but it develops in a kind of woodsy tic-tac smell resembling toilet cleaner. It’s a 5, a totally average smell.

A Well-Spoken and Charming Dandy
It came out of Zara here in Italy a few months ago, and I saw this bottle sitting with the rest of the current Vibrant Leather collection. It is almost impossible not to notice. Its sparkling orange box stands out among the other flankers of the same group. The packaging, the bottle, and the cap give away the game on this thing. Interestingly, as some of the other Vibrant Leather releases, the cap is magnetic, many but not all. I think this line has some excellent value for money fragrances, including Vibrant Leather Cologne - virtually indistinguishable from Dior Homme Cologne. For me, Vibrant Leather Éclat de Bergamote is a cross between a modern cologne and a fruity, green summer scent with a good dose of leather.

How does it smell? The scent is creamy, fruity, slightly woody, slightly smoky, and yes, my immediate thought after applying it was that it smelled a bit like Creed Aventus. It wasn’t clear from the note list that this would be the case, but even with no pineapple or blackcurrant in the notes, in particular, it has some fruity qualities reminiscent of superstar Creed. However, after the first few moments, there are remarkable differences. It has a sour, almost sweet grassy green note. I enjoy the green note in here.

It opens incredibly citrus and fruity, somehow like the essence of Minute Maid Pineapple Orange juice—somewhere on the border between real oranges and the orange-coloured drink. It is full of sweet and ripe bergamot, with orange zest and pulp, fruity nuances of and what I swear is sour, berry-like, blackcurrant, and pineapple. Although it does not mention the last two notes, they are perceivable in the initial blast. It’s light, doesn’t overpower, and it’s completely dreamlike.

There are also heavy greenish notes that play with this bergamot: like freshly cut grass, some hay, but nothing too wet. I could also say galbanum. Suddenly, a delicate and milky aroma of coconut reaches my nostrils. A creamy and milky heart, seriously.

From there, it becomes drier, greener, more leathery and smoky. The zestiness is still lingering in the background, though it turned like petitgrain with citrus, bitter, leafy nuances. The dazzling fragrance pretty quickly dries down to the typical Vibrant Leather and Aventus smell. Though, dry-down offers so much more to your imagination. There is a dirty denseness, supported by some nice roasted and smoked tonka in the base here that smoothes and balances things out. In the end, the perfume dances between a berry-like lightly sweet patchouli and the fir-like accord.

Vibrant Leather Éclat de Bergamote hints at Aventus, mainly because of the ingredients in common, but significantly differentiated, like a fruity batch of Aventus. It is light enough to be worn in the cruel summer, but it also has a denseness that it performs well in the cooler Spring and Fall seasons. So bright and invigorating, yet sturdy enough for a typical mild day with some rain. I guess anybody who likes Aventus with an orangish twist will like this one. Overall, it’s a delightful fragrance, and I’m instantly a fan. It’s somehow fresh, delicious, dark, and provocative all at once. The overall behaviour leaves a bit to be desired, though, at least on my skin. Sillage is reasonably quiet. Notable but not offensive. A daytime fragrance.

I based the review on a 100ml bottle I have owned since June 2021.

Try it on your skin. I got nice citrusy, woody, smoky vibe, but my friend got toilet freshener. Very skin specific scent.

Smells like orange candy, somehow pleasing but in general too artifical and almost childish tbh -

Somewhere between Vibrant Leather and MB Explorer with orange on top. I get around 8-9 longevity. Good bang for the buck and worth testing.

Lighter than VL. The fragrance is spectacular, with a special touch of orange on top. In the base, the tonka bean makes it special. Love it!
