GISSAH CAPRI I Oriental freshie with a unique character I fresh, but different...

Oriental fragrances have conquered the DACH region, and yes, people often hear about brands like Afnan, Armaf, Lattafa and co. But the real hidden gems from the Emirates have completely different names, and one of them is Gissah! A brand that positively surprised me, but I'll come to that in a moment. Fresh means something a little different in oriental terminology, and the Capri proved that to me once again.

But now let's get started with Capri :

- First of all, the packaging: it's simply amazing how much value you get for your money. The bottle is delivered in a high-quality cardboard box, and the bottle itself is a feast for the eyes. Large, heavy, luxurious. The atomizer sprays really well, you have to be able to empty the 200ML somehow :) I'll upload a picture of it for you.

- Now to the fragrance. What do you get at the opening? A fresh ginger note that is really tangy. Maritime notes come in very quickly in the opening, but don't be alarmed; not 40 Knots-like, salty maritime notes, but like when you're standing on a coast. The opening lingers for a surprisingly long time and is simply brilliant. Yes, there is also a hint of apple.

- The sandalwood then slowly creeps in; woody, light and velvety and, together with the patchouli, gives the initial kick of freshness an increasingly slightly earthy kick; however, the freshness never really disappears completely...

- The drydown is where the magic happens in my opinion; a beautiful combo of fresh green vetiver and well-dosed incense is added; the fragrance gets the next twist and becomes oriental-fresh-aromatic. Wow!

- The performance is ungodly; after 5 hours the projection is still way up there and it burns for a good 8-10 hours. Accordingly, the fragrance lasts an extremely long time; easily from morning to late evening, and even then it's easily perceptible. A fresh fragrance that lasts that long? How is that possible? I don't know, probably the combination of incense, patchouli etc.

Well, in summary, a really great, beautiful and, above all, high-performance freshie that really doesn't smell like anything else; very unique! Very, very far away, you could say that it's an Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum on steroids, with more rough edges... a lot of sharp corners and edges.
