Let me start off by saying that this is without question a high quality, beautiful smelling perfume. One that is blended and composed very well, and is attractive and easy to wear.
With that out of the way, I am extremely glad I got a decant of this and not a 1300USD 30m bottle.
Hainan oud is my absolute favorite. I adore the profile of Sinensis oud. Jems stands for Jinx Elite Material Showcase, and I was really hoping this would be all about the Hainan kyara. Unfortunately, it is lost under all of the other raw materials and blending of the perfume. The main notes I get are the rose, frankincense and yuzu, and it sadly drowns out the Hainan Oud. I unfortunately get none of the kyara kinamic vibes or mind buzz I associate with gently heating kyara chips. I do get a little bit of the green, almost minty characteristic you expect from Hainan oud, but I really need to search for it.
This is where my issue with the perfume lies. On one hand, it is an absolutely beautiful composition. A perfume that is very wearable, and attractive. But insanely expensive! $1300USD for 30ml. The materials are for sure high quality, but i would wager that a big chunk of that cost is the 3grams of Hainan Kyara in the bottle, which sadly is not the star of the show to my nose. All of the other materials drown it out, and I am left with simply a nice perfume. Not a Kyara showcase.
So rating this perfume is challenging. It is a beautiful perfume, but fails to meet my expectations of what I think the perfume should be. I am glad I was able to have the opportunity to test the perfume, but sadly will not be on the hunt for a bottle.
