Beautiful Oud Scent
I wore this fragrance today, and I believe in giving credit where credit is due. That said, this is just my personal opinion don’t get swayed by the hype. Always test for yourself, as tastes vary our noses are different .

This is one of the most beautiful oud scents I’ve come across smoky, but never overwhelming. Just the right balance. The oud is elegantly blended with a fine Tonkin musk, which adds a layer of depth and beauty to the composition.

The vanilla, orris, and various floral notes introduce a complexity that plays a key role in balancing the strength of the oud. They soften its intensity and bring harmony to the fragrance.

A well crafted scent and surprisingly accessible, even for those who are just beginning to explore the world of oud.

Smoky, sweet, animalic, glorious
Right off the bat, OSBK is a bold, smoky, punchy oud based perfume. As soon as you spray it on skin, it leaves a noticeable orange/brown stain on your skin that screams “you’re in for a wild ride”.

Underneath the smoky, woody Oud I can sense some soft florals and sweetness that are working to balance out the raw oud opening. The sweetness is coming from vanilla, which is handled nicely here. I can sense the vanilla and it plays its role dutifully, however it is not trying to be the star and outshine the oud. There is also orris in the composition that adds some additional sweet creamy qualities, almost slightly lactonic at times, which plays well with the vanilla and smoky oud.

The animalics in OSBK are fantastic! Tonkin musk absolute is the perfect musk for this composition as it has that natural creamy sweetness that blends perfectly with orris and vanilla, while still adding that raw animalic punch. Ambergris ensures you know this is an EO perfume, adding a perfect mineralic/salty accord. And finally, castoreum adds another leathery, animalic element to the composition that pairs wonderfully with the woody and smoky oud.

Finally, the oud. EO lists Brunei Kynam, tigerwood 1990 and raw oud resin as the ouds in OSBK. Now, I have no idea how much BK and tigerwood are actually in a 30ml bottle, but I can definitely assure you that the oud profile is strong, and glorious. It is resinous, smoky, woody but also at times, cooling and blue or purple. The ouds are complex, and meld with the animalics and florals. Oud is the canvas, and the paint here, while the animlaics, florals and vanilla are the brush.

Masculine, dark and smoky oudy scent with touch of florals and vanilla
A very masculine fragrance, in which smoky oud plays the main role, although it harmonizes very well with the other fragrance notes. Especially in the beginning the floral notes are noticeable, although it is not dominant but neatly woven into the whole composition. As time goes by, vanilla starts to become more and more noticeable, and the fragrance becomes woody and takes on a bit of sweetness. However, the vanilla is not bland, as it is accompanied by a smoky oud until the very end. Sillage and longevity at a good level. It's not a crowd pleaser, but oud lovers will definitely appreciate this fragrance because in my opinion it stands out from other fragrances with a similar profile. One of the best fragrances from Ensar Oud that I have had the opportunity to test.

Doubts, initial contempt and the path to acceptance and more....
Hello, everyone,

let's get straight to the foreword:

Crazy me bought you blind as a 50ml bottle - I advise everyone not to!

Why such a purchase?

Fragrances from EO are works of art and they want to be treated as such, that means taking the "daily", of course you can do it, but I wouldn't.

The point was a mix of the attraction of the unknown (new - I don't know it), I can usually imagine a fragrance very well and somehow I wanted to have such a direction and by the way many fragrances of the brand (EO) are quite animalic...., I may go along with this up to a certain level as long as it is supportive + only noticeable for a short time. But after a certain level, I'm out and it's not like that here! (FOR LUCK!)

_______________________

About the scent:

Nevertheless, we initially had minor differences in terms of the roughness, the darker woodiness and the subtle sweetness.

What do I mean by that?
The subtle sweetness is the smallest part of the "triangle" and the more prominent parts here are the smoke and the wood. "Triangles" because it feels as if you are virtually surrounded by the 3 things for the first 2 hours and it's a tug-of-war between the fragrance notes as to which is the "stronger" and I didn't like THAT so much.

After x weeks apart, a new attempt and I now ACCEPT it without any problems...

BUT...?

(Personal thinking!)

The amount of spray makes the poison. But 3 1/2 or 4 it gets too dense for me, too voluminous and I have the feeling it fights against me more than with me and a fragrance shouldn't bother me or annoy me, so I always take 2 to 3 sprays and everything is cool!

It's a dark woody scent with a fair amount of smoke and a subtle, non-annoying sweetness. However, it is quite unique because it is a relatively engaging, noticeable rose that is NOT jammy like, for example, the Jamaican Ambergris or the Jamaican Ambergris Attar but a kind of dry sweetness and that is really uncomplicated
After almost 2 hours, that sweetness disappears and the Oud Sultani: Brunei Kynam slowly becomes creamier and creamier and that in combination with the wood and subtle smoke is in my opinion a very very nice stage!
BUT I really only recommend 3 sprays ;)

H/S is good+ to very good
(varies a lot depending on the weather when you wear it)

How is it received:

EO's are not usually well received by the masses = this is because they are not made for "everyone", but are works of art that want to be seen as such. That's why there is no EO that is always 1a, BUT the Oud Sultani: Brunei Kynam is one of the better and lighter ones (and not an animalic club like others).

When and where:

September to May.
Indoors, please dose relatively sparingly (in the sense of max. 2 to 3x.
And outside "just do it" ;) -no more than 5 (max. !), otherwise you may be greeted with a headache like me.

In general...

It is and remains special and should be used as such, because otherwise its MAGIC may evaporate very quickly and using such an expensive fragrance almost every day = you can do it, but I advise against it, also financially...

I also recommend testing it on the skin and not just on the sprayer and/or on paper, because that way you might be testing 2 different fragrances = trust Benny!
The dear money / the purchase price:

I am PITY to talk about whether a purchase makes sense or not, in this respect it is very relative and my views may not be like yours and vice versa... . From a purely commercial point of view (which I am, among other things) I can say = test it, then we'll see!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

Smokey dark scent, very slight musk sweetness. Nard/Orris give it a grainy texture, an interesting twist on a masculine profile.
